Title: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Ken Masters on May 10, 2018, 12:38:47 AM Hi All,
I've just purchased a 695 monster and am looking to replace the stock exhausts. I'm looking at danmoto and delkevic. The danmoto pipe listing says that an 02 sensor eliminator is needed if the bike has an O2 sensor. The sales rep however has told me that this is not needed for a 695. I believe the 695 has such a sensor? Will the engine check light come on if I install this exhaust?? Thanks Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: stopintime on May 10, 2018, 01:34:27 AM It does have the sensor. I haven't tried it myself, but assume it will trigger a light. Slip ons or full system? If you keep the air box lid - it will probably run ok and not need a race ECU or tune.
Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Ken Masters on May 10, 2018, 03:35:48 AM Thanks mate - slip ons so should be a straight swap.
So the check engine light shouldn't come on then? Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: ducpainter on May 10, 2018, 04:03:13 AM Thanks mate - slip ons so should be a straight swap. Correct. So the check engine light shouldn't come on then? Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Ken Masters on May 10, 2018, 04:11:23 AM Thanks both! [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Speeddog on May 10, 2018, 06:36:56 AM I've mounted a couple Delkevic cans, they're good kit.
The polished stainless cans are super shiny, they look awesome but any scratch will show like there's someone shouting and pointing at it. The carbon ones look great and are much less delicate finish. Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Ken Masters on May 13, 2018, 12:26:28 AM Thanks speeddog, I'm leaning towards the delkevic I must say and will probably go for the black ones.
I'm looking at a set with removable baffles as the drivers here are just plain crazy so I want them to hear me coming! I'm also hopeful that the set will produce a deep growl to complement the monster. How loud were yours mate? Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Speeddog on May 13, 2018, 06:35:05 AM One was on a Honda Hawk, the other on a custom 2:1 I did for an S2R800, single 18" can on each bike.
The Hawk was nearly stock, so not so loud to start with. The S2R ended up sounding nice as well, totally OK without the baffle. Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Ken Masters on May 15, 2018, 05:23:38 AM Thanks. I'm thinking the 2 into 1 on the s2r must have looked and sounded pretty damn good.
I found a nice youtube vid of the delkevic 350mm carbon can I'm looking at on a suzuki sv650s and that is exactly the sound I'm after for the 695 x2! Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Ken Masters on June 07, 2018, 03:59:39 AM Ok pulled the trigger on the 350mm stubby carbon silencers from delkevic.
Will report back with some after pics when ready. Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: koko64 on June 07, 2018, 04:57:17 AM [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Heath on June 07, 2018, 06:27:53 AM I know you already pulled the trigger but I always loved the MIVV high GP carbon exhaust for the 695. That is what I was going to get before I bought my S2R800 instead of a 695.
Be sure to get a video too when its done! Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Ken Masters on June 08, 2018, 12:33:45 AM Cheers guys will do!
I'm hoping to fit this weekend and will try and take a vid too. If I have time I will get down to the tyre shop tomorrow morning too and see if they have any deals on! @ Heath, I like the mivvs mate, I watched a video of Ducatinyc installing low mounts on his 620 and they look and sound gooood. I must say though - I'm usually a fan of underseat exhausts but I just don't like the high mounts on the 695, it just doesn't look right for me, not sure why! Think the bikes just don't look quite as good as they do with the low mounts.. Title: Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 07 695 Post by: Ken Masters on June 11, 2018, 04:53:23 AM Ok guys I put the exahusts in over the weekend.
Took me longer than expected I must say! 1. My first time changing an exhaust 2. My OCD! You are changing 2 exhausts on a 695 and I have a serious ocd problem. I spent aaages making sure they line up with each other!! It would have taken a lot less time on a one exhaust bike for someone like me! Anyway the carbon delkevic pipes look just down right incredible. The stock pipes were very plain, very big and very heavy in comparison. I took the bike out for a quick spin to cement the exhaust silicone and well, because I just had to, and all I can say is WOW!! The monster now has a deep rumble to it. It just sounds so much more powerful - like it was meant to be, like a MONSTER! These exhausts are sold as road legal in the UK but they are still plenty loud, especially when you have two of them rumbling away... They come with baffles in but I don't see myself taking these out anytime soon, the noise is perfect, like I dreamt the bike would sound! Anyone thinking about the delkevic carbon pipes - go for it, I can wholeheartedly recommend. They give the monster the deep growl that it should have had from the factory and transforms your bike. In addition the kit seems good quality: good finish, nice looking steel and carbon, well made and shaped, and the sound, oh boy the sound 8) I will have to make a vid when I get a chance..
