Title: Does you engine make a Zen like Reverberation -oooooooooo- sound?
Post by: DuciD03 on May 30, 2018, 09:47:30 PM

so ...  still getting used to the s2r 1k 07; tis a nice ride; I like her very much; as a new old school bilgy "ting" its wonderful; but still listening assessing cleaning adjusting oiling as needed ...

I'm noticing a nice medium pitched Zen engine reverberation; like an -oooooooooooo- sound; not deep but ever-present quiet -oooooooooooo- medium pitch metallic sound; like a soft byzantine choir holding a note; or a mountain budda doing an ooooohm ... I don't think this is anything to worry about but just say-in ...

any of you guys git dat sound? lol (ps... but if I should be concerned let me-s know.)

(and pss this -is- and engine noise at idle to when at constant speed with light load, relaxed riding... not a persistent noise in my head that I need to see a psychologist about  ;D)

Cheers  [Dolph]

Resonance might be a better description then reverberation; (Airbox resonance? don't think so; Primary gears? naaw; Belts? maybe but don't belive so; Clutch? cant see it doing that;

maybe through the muffler system ....

As long as its a real sound that others can hear, you're ok. [laugh]

I recently chased a sound that annoyed me and discovered it was a blend of sounds from a loose clutch basket expension ring, rear cush drive and wheel bearings and a badly fitting aftermarket clutch drum. At speed the blended sound was something combined that was hard to indentify. I had both engine covers off, rear wheel apart, clutch apart until I identified each part of the puzzle. Pita but all fixed.
