Title: I love 4-valve Monsters! Post by: StuSegal on June 23, 2018, 04:48:57 AM I'm a motorcycle dealer for the last 20 years. I left Corporate America to open a Harley store, sold it and retired, then opened what today is a 10 brand multiline store in Metuchen, NJ (Ducati, Triumph, BMW, Honda, Kawi, Suzuki, Vespa, Polaris, CanAm, SeaDoo).
For many years I rode Harleys, then BMWs, THEN in '04 I bought my first Monster, a 916 S4 . . . and fell in love. Since then I have always had a 4-valve Monster, and have had them all . . . S4, S4R, S4Rs, 1200. Right now I have both an S4R (which I like better than either the S4 or the S4Rs) and a 2017 1200. Post by: DuciD03 on July 18, 2018, 08:44:43 PM welcome "4 Valve Stu" ;) Always wanted to test out a 4 valver; but havent had a chance; first ride I took on a friends 800 monster 10 yrs ago and was sold on the riding position & torque; took 4 months to find one I liked; had 26k mi on that when sold; and have owned 4 since that time currently have a s2r 1000 ds; bought and stored in pieces for 8 yrs and got on the road this spring had 3k mi on her too; biggest air cooled monster out there and just installed an oversized piston, oberan clutch slave that does a nice job of lightening up the heavy dry clutch ;D
