Thanks for the link but wow, has moto-site writing in the US really fallen this far?

The story tells me nothing I didn't already know - and I haven't even ridden any of the bikes.

The video is appallingly lame.

And then in the text, this:

"An obvious theme with the trellis-framed machines was how well they handled, with feedback and precision still admired today. That obsession with pinpoint accuracy is missing when riding the 1199 and 1299 Panigales."

Really? Of course I haven't ridden one so I can't say. But the Panigales do run a bigger rear tyre...

I'd not track someone else's 916 on 9 year old tires.

If the 916 throttle is extremely stiff, either it's jacked up or the writer needs to abdicate to someone modestly fit.

Yes, it's fallen that far, I'm afraid.

Good point on the tyres.

And yes I wondered about the throttle. Didn't make sense. I never saw anyone complaining about the throttle when the 916 was released.

Sad story.

Motorcycle.com was never great, but they did some pretty good stuff and showed promise. First web-only bike zine, IIRC.
