It's been a while since I've been here. Found a 2002 Monster 750 FI in the “Senna “ colors. I've owned a 95 M900, 03M800 and most recently a 02 748. I'm a Monster guy at heart and have missed my classic style Monsters.
I've been looking for a red 900 or 1000 but came across a 750 that is low miles and 100% stock.
Any big negatives I would face with buying a 750? Thanks!
'02 M750 is a one year only model.
Would be nearly indistinguishable from an '03 M800 other than being a good bit slower.
That said, my M750 is just fine for solo work.

You think it would be that much slower?
A 750 is slow in a straight line.
Overall, for the average street rider, they are fine.

Even with my 748 90% of my riding was cruising the back roads

A 750 is very similar to a 748, except for the top speed.
They don't have a ton of grunt, but that's why they have a transmission with 5 gears. You'll need to use it.
I used to ride on the track with a guy that rode a big bike on the street, and was riding a borrowed 750 SS on the track. He figured it was 'only' a 750 so he could do whatever he wanted. He crashed 4 times in one day, breaking the rear loose every time.
I had a 750 SS, and only upgraded to a 996 when I lost the motor and the SBK was tossed in my lap. I was slower on the SBK for 2 years, before I came to grips with the additional power, and the rate it covered ground.
Like the old saying goes...'It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow.'
The only times I felt my M750 lacked power was on high speed sweepers add when riding with superbikes. Around town it was a pleasure. Top speed? How fast do you really want to go on a naked bike?
I've never had so much fun with 60+ hp.
In my humble opinion, I believe the 750 is the best sounding v-twin ever.
I know it's useless information but it's enough to sway my decision. ;D
Loved my M750. Now have an M695 a bit faster and lighter. Big plus for the 695 last of the real Monsters.
A set of pipes, a light flywheel and a tuned PCV or PCIII and you'll have a fun bike which a much sweeter motor than a 900. I've actually really grown to love the short stroke 750.
2 months from the 21st anniversary of buying my '00 M750. I've had a couple problems, but nothing major. Looked at several 900's early on, but don't regret having passed on them. Great city & back country road bike. Stock seat sux.
So in the end did you get the 750 and how does it go?
