Strange that such an abrasive track was also so slippery. Riders caught out all over the place. Both tyre wear and losing the front and rear were issues. Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: scaudill on June 16, 2019, 08:48:25 AM What did the Honda exec's tell Lorenzo?

You can delete my last thread... make the beast with two backsing Lorenzo I just locked it.MM is hard enough to beat without that margin. Haven't watched Moto2 yet, but the Moto 3 race was like a bowling match. People getting taken out all over the place. John McPhee was completely vertical, all the while holding on to the bars, from a highside and he saved it. :o Randy Mamola...eat your heart out. :PStrange that such an abrasive track was also so slippery. Riders caught out all over the place. Both tyre wear and losing the front and rear were issues. Also, the Honda's had two riders drop out of the lead due to mechanicals...they just quit running...very un Honda like Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: kopfjäger on June 16, 2019, 09:53:30 AM My boy finally gets a great start, they were ganging up on MM early again, than boom. If Dovi didn’t STOP, Lorenzo wouldn’t have grabbed all that front brake. Yeah he was a little hot, but nothing crazy. What was the final tally of riders going down? Half the field at least. Tricky track today for some reason. (?) #9 looked good today and had some great battles till Rinns tried to launch himself off the bike. Crazy race.
Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: ducpainter on June 16, 2019, 10:27:33 AM Dovi stopped to avoid contact with MM...at least that's how I saw it.
Every rider that finished collected points. Crazy race. If Mavericck, or Rossi, had any tire left at the end they would have been serious contenders. Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: kopfjäger on June 16, 2019, 10:31:08 AM Moto3 was madness. :o
Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: kopfjäger on June 16, 2019, 11:28:40 AM Like Nate said, Dovi checked up to avoid hitting Marc which caused JLo to react. So, MM actually caused the chain reaction. On purpose or a weird line. (?)
Oh and 3 podiums in a row for Danilo. [clap] Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: ducpainter on June 16, 2019, 01:29:53 PM http://www.motogp.com/en/videos/2019/06/16/free-watch-lorenzo-s-crash-in-catalunya-from-all-angles/296909
Everyone can decide for themselves. I disagree with Daryl. George was way too hot for that corner this weekend. It had been a problem all weekend, and particularly today. I don't think Marc's line was that weird, or taken intentionally for any other reason than to pass Dovi. Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: kopfjäger on June 16, 2019, 01:39:14 PM C’mon, his line’ caused Dovi to have to drop the anchor. Something was up, or Dovi was in too hot as well, dragging JLo with him. I say simply a racing incident, but what was causing all the other wrecks. Aprilia team took each other out. Cal went in way too fast on his wreck., etc etc etc. I’m blaming the full moon. 🌕

Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: ducpainter on June 16, 2019, 02:38:06 PM C’mon, his line’ caused Dovi to have to drop the anchor. Something was up, or Dovi was in too hot as well, dragging JLo with him. I say simply a racing incident, but what was causing all the other wrecks. Aprilia team took each other out. Cal went in way too fast on his wreck., etc etc etc. I’m blaming the full moon. 🌕 That's racing. Any time a rider gets stuffed in a corner he'll react by checking up, or standing the bike up. Same thing happened in Mugello when Petrux passed Dovi inside. It's the rider behind that responsible for not colliding with another rider. George didn't do that. He's already said it was his fault, and I agree. There was nothing wrong with Marc's line. Dovi was slow into the corner. Petrucci saw it and slowed. Marc saw it and passed. Rossi and Lorenzo reacted way too late. Lorenzo took out Dovi, and one of the bikes took out Rossi in the run off when he ran over it. Had those two not over cooked it into the corner we wouldn't be having this discussion. The track sucked this weekend. It was hot, and that track is greasy when it gets hot. It was that way for all three classes. The commentators were talking about a stat that shows Barcelona is always at the top of the list for crashes. Add the fact that the circuit was changed in turn 10, for safety reasons, and the new turn doesn't really fit the layout. The stewards will decide whether George was at fault and penalized, or if it was just a racing incident, and life will go on. Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: kopfjäger on June 16, 2019, 02:42:47 PM On to the next race. MM will walk away with the championship again this year. Hopefully we’ll get more races like last week, but I’m not gonna hold my breath. I gotta watch today’s Moto3 race again. [evil]

http://www.motogp.com/en/video_gallery/2019/06/12/round-7-the-best-videos-from-the-catalan-gp/295814?n=296909 Free if you're registered. Here's some screengrabs.... (https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48081087188_9ac77cb49a_b.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2gfL96S) Just a whisker after they're jamming the brakes on. JLo enters the corner ~10 feet inside of the racing line, pretty well even with Mav (side to side). Very very high risk strategy, especially at the tightest corner on the track when it's covered with hot greasy Dunlop. And there's 2 riders ahead of Mav, so the chance of there being an opening to slide into... microscopic. For him to cleanly and successfully pass Mav, he's got to outbrake him by one bike length *and* a little more so he's going slow enough to make his tighter line. And it'd be a block pass at that, so not so clean... Honestly, he's screwed the pooch right there, he needed to be no more than 3 feet inside of Mav to have any hope at all. Watch Marc pass Dovi, and Rossi pass Danilo, to see how it's done properly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48081143063_3216f9f287_b.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2gfLqHe) JLo is still ~ 10 feet inside of Mav, and has gained maybe half a wheel on him. If Mav sees him, he's preparing to stay on the brakes a wee bit longer to eliminate the overlap and make a cutback. JLo is having another go at the pooch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48081201261_b46e4fd037_b.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2gfLJ1D) JLo has moved over toward the line, but he's still 6 feet off line and the corner is *right there*. And he's gained nothing on Mav. He might possibly fade over and slot in behind Mav, but if Mav's seen him, he's staying on the brakes to make a cutback and there will be no slot. JLo's at the pooch for the 3rd time. Oh, also, JLo must be thinking he's gonna outbrake Dovi and Marc, too. Apparently he did not read the memo about who's the hardest brakers on the grid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48081494103_66d9a2d32c_b.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2gfNe4D) JLo is almost to the racing line, but his trajectory is make the beast with two backsed. And he's still made no progress on Mav. Note Rossi and Marc have made substantial progress on their opponents. The pooch has run off, JLo's plane is on fire and a wing just broke off. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48081675332_5ddc580b79_b.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2gfP9Wh) JLo's now on racing line, but his trajectory is still make the beast with two backsed. Marc and Rossi are continuing to execute properly. IMO, Dovi's seen Marc, and we all know what Dovi does when Marc lunges up the inside. Eliminate the overlap and cutback city. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48081806837_94b0f99c3e_b.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2gfPQ2B) JLo's decking it. Marc and Rossi have made their passes. Dovi and Danilo are starting their cutbacks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48081887687_8ca3659b16_b.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2gfQf4z) Rossi's standing it up, mistake. Danilo's continuing his cutback, gonna work aces for him. Mav can't buy luck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JLo's plan was a real WTF'er. Entering that far inside, no chance. I can't remember a legitimate P4 to P1 pass. Ever. Outbraking both Dovi and Marc, not gonna happen. Just daft. I'm sure his job is safe through next year, he's gifted the championship to MM. Honda and Puig have gotten a bearhug on their #1 enemy, and they'll string him along with constant bullshit. Best money they've spent in ages, and it probably wasn't much. Title: Re: No talk about Catalunya? Post by: ute on June 17, 2019, 02:41:24 PM Bowling with George
