Title: Brembo Master Rebuild Seals Size Post by: CookieMonster on August 01, 2019, 09:25:28 AM Hello guys,
So my clutch fluid is super dark. I need to replace the inside seals (its cheaper to do the seals on a weekend or over the winter than spend 20X the amount for a new one), I found a Brembo rebuild kit on eBay but first I need to know the sizes of the seals I will need. Has anyone rebuild theirs or does anyone know the sizes of the seals in it?? And I am talking about the seals on a S2R1000 Brembo axial unit. I did that last summer or so...and here we are. :'(Title: Re: Brembo Master Rebuild Seals Size Post by: ducpainter on August 01, 2019, 09:37:59 AM The fluid will turn dark in a year, or so, even if you rebuild. I've never heard anyone claim otherwise.
It happens on all Ducs. The color of the fluid is not from seal deterioration, AFAIK. It's usually attributed to heat. Thanks for that! :) Title: Re: Brembo Master Rebuild Seals Size Post by: Speeddog on August 01, 2019, 09:45:26 AM Given the mission-critical nature of the master cylinder, I'd recommend getting the parts from a genuine Brembo dealer; Bevel Heaven, OPP, etc.
Quick scan of their offerings vs. some EBay vendor shows similar pricing. Counterfeit shyt on EBay is rampant. Or will these dealers know? I looked at one item BH has and it says that "most Ducs use 13mm. Does that sound right for a S2R1000?Quick scan of their offerings vs. some EBay vendor shows similar pricing. Counterfeit shyt on EBay is rampant. Title: Re: Brembo Master Rebuild Seals Size Post by: Speeddog on August 02, 2019, 11:24:54 AM Brembo master cylinders are stamped/engraved with some sort of part number that shows the size.
The Brembo small-pivot goldlines have it on the top surface near the Brembo logo. It'll be something like 1K34+12, last 2 digits being the size. Title: Re: Brembo Master Rebuild Seals Size Post by: CookieMonster on August 02, 2019, 02:05:33 PM 😳🤯
