Title: Fuel Tank Question Post by: Bbrent on July 24, 2008, 09:46:29 AM Ok...I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I have an '08 S4RS and want a different tank. I know that the hole where the fuel pump fits in is oval unlike most other models of monsters. My question is, If I were to buy a tank that has a round hole and buy the right fuel pump, will this work?

This may sound kinda anal but I don't want to scratch my new tank. I did some track last year on my CBR and was really tough on the paint so I just wanted to dress her down a bit.

If you really want to track your bike, you can get a clear protective coating. They come in sheets that you can either cut yourself, or pre cut for your bike. Much cheaper than buying another tank. If you can find a 08+ tank, then just do that, even if its more expensive it would be easier when you swap tanks. The tank is shaped a bit differently underneath. i found a cheapie crashed 08 tank with oval, and after searching a bit, they dont fit each other. Well, what i found out was the 08 doesnt fit the 07. not the other way around, maybe does fit.
