Three modified Ducati Desert Sleds participated in the Mint 400 desert race in early March and finished 1st and 2nd and it could have been a 1, 2, 3 sweep but for a broken shift lever.

Steve McQueen was a desert sled rider on a Triumph before switching to two stroke Husqvarna motorcycles. By the way Alexander Smith mentioned in the article is the son of off road legend Malcolm Smith 100 MPH on a Desert Sled!!!!!!!!!!
