I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow afternoon, but would like a heads up about some strange symptoms that are developing rapidly. Needless to say, i'm pretty damn worried. I'm one of those people that only goes to the doctor in dire need.

Aparently i had a severe allergic reaction to something. My hands and feet swelled up at the joints and were itching like hell. I also developed some serious welts on both sides of my ribcage and forearms.
The part that worried me was how fast it happened, 2 to 3 hours and i looked like i could fall out dead any minute. Fortunately it's clearing up on it's own already. But i'm still going to the doc's office today.
Carry around some Benedryl, mang. Allergic reactions are scary.

Sorry, you misunderstand. It used to be called the 'Emergency Room' (ER)...now, they are calling it the 'Emergency Department' (ED). My wife works in a hospital. I was not questioning the ability of your wang. Hope you are feeling better. [thumbsup]

You really gotta find out what you reacted to. Thats an awfully big reaction that you had and it could probably progress quickly into anaphylaxis. Get to a doc, get an epi pen, and find out what caused it so you can avoid it in the future.
And +1 to the benedryl. It can help for most reactions but you're best bet is to carry an epi pen too.

I didn't think a trip to the ER was in order. I wasn't having difficulty breathing or elevated heart rate. Other than the burning and itching welts and swelling i felt fine.
The problem has been solved. It was an accidental case of "attempted involuntary manslaughter".
There are two things i am alergic to, CATS and TIDE detergent.
Yesterday, while i was at work, my children brought the niehbors cat into the house. And actually had it in my bed at one point.
This was AFTER my wife had changed the bed covers with freshly washed (IN TIDE) ones.
Two VERY important things that they forgot to mention until today.
So when i went to bed last night i was getting a double whammy!
It's not funny but at the same time it sort of is. [laugh]
I'm gonna love seeing the look on my wifes face when i swap her shampoo out with flexall tonight. [evil]
As for the kids, i think i'll glue thier favorite toys to the ceiling.

I'm allergic to detergents with perfumes and dyes. A guy I was dating did a load of laundry for me a couple years ago and used the wrong stuff. I went to my classes and lasted through one before running back to my dorm room, stripping down, and seeing myself covered in a huge rash. But only where the clothes were touching.

Me too. I'm allergic to certain types of fragrances. No rash though. About 15-30 minutes after exposure, I get a terrible migraine followed by vomiting. Lasts for about 8-12 hours. I can't use any air fresheners, only use perfume free detergents, g/f can't wear perfume around me, can only use orange-scented house cleaning products, and the list goes on and on and on and on and on........

My office is deemed a "scent free" workplace, meaning no smelly lotions, perfumes, etc.
Funny thing is, the bathrooms have no ventilation, so the smell that you encounter when going in is the most vile, disgusting, musty, bacteria infested smell EVER. And it's there, all day, every day. I nearly lost my lunch a few times going in.
Talk about smells.

You're probably right. There may be some kind of ventilation in the bathrooms but it doesn't work. Apparently they remodeled them too and the smell got worse.

I'm not allergic (I think) to perfumes and stuff, but strong smells (especially old people perfume) give me a migraine and make me nauseaous too.
+11tybillion on the scentless deodorizer, especially b/c being pregnant and then having to smell that does not sound good for you. My wife has hated being sick while she is pregnant, good thing this first one has been pretty easy for her.

PS: my office will be perfume/cologne/scent free when I open, if you come in with it on, you will leave w/out being seen. MIGRAINES SUCK! Oooorrrr, I could just charge an extra fee for that . . . hmm I wonder if that would fit under the fee schedule as 'reverse aroma-therapy.'
