I'm not exactly sure, but it was well over ten years ago. I got all the color done, and the white panels on the tank covers, set it aside, and finished up other things in the shop. Then I started building my house. That took four years, and we've been living in it for seven, or eight, years. Sometime last year he asked me when I was going to finish it. He hadn't said a word up until then. I told him it was on the list. It was the only job left in my shop, and I owed it to him to finish. As much as I was done painting, and as much as I struggled with my eyesight...finish it I did. So when I told you I was retired, I wasn't lying, or blowing you off. I just had to fulfill an obligation that I'd neglected for far too long. I'm perfectly content working part time seasonal at the race track building stuff, fixing stuff, and mowing. At least in NSW when they make the standard issue licence plates ugly yellow they have the nous to offer personalised plates in some more pleasing design at additional cost... I always knew painter was good but it's tough to see just how good when most of what I saw was resprays and tank repairs. Top level job, painter. You should be proud of that one. Also glad there was no shipping damage ;D Probably took Steve as long to unpack it as it did for me to get the job done. :P I learned early on how to pack stuff to avoid damage. It only happened once. Heavy stuff, like steel tanks are harder than the light plastic panels involved here.
