I am a little disappointed but I guess this is sweet too.
Christian Lion? I thought we were supposed to feed the christians to the lions.

That's pretty cool. :)
The Aerosmith soundtrack really added to the cheese. Reminded me a little of "Canis" from SNL.

You think that's bad, you should hear the original... with Whitney Housotn. [puke]
Gave me goosebumps.
Very cool if it is real...who is the 3rd guy in the end...and why in the heck would the female come up and be friendly?
I certainly hope that it is real, and something like that could actually happen!
If the male trusted them, the female (being submissive to him) would act as he would...

I'm guessing the 3rd guy towards the end is the one who helped reintroduce the lion to the wild.
I did a little research on the story to see if it was real for myself. It's all over the web... even a true rating from Snopes.com (cuz we all know they have the final say [cheeky]).
Great story. The original documentary is on Youtube too in 10 parts starting here:

The older guy is George Adamson, renowned wildlife conservationist who spent most of his life in Kenya reintroducing orphaned and domesticated lions to the wild. He was shot and killed by poachers in '89. The female is either Mona or Lisa who were both orphaned lions that came from a wildlife orphanage in Nairobi and were already accustomed to humans. They were part of the pride that Adamson manufactured to give them a better chance of survival in the wild, along with Christian, Boy, Juma and Super Cub.

George. I haven't seen anything about how long or well Christian lived, I'd like to know.
Why do I need a smoke all of a sudden?? ???
Interesting vid, I grew up in Tanzania and this brings back memories of watching Born Free. Cool.
Interesting story.
Made me think of "He Was a Good Lion" which is a marvelous chapter in West With the Night by Beryl Markham (supposedly).
