Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: Jaman on November 11, 2022, 01:20:36 PM Definitely the lineup is a tad tubby, it is amazing how heavy they made them, but hey, looks like one could shed at least 100lbs off by swapping out the mofugly exhaust... looks-wise, I have liked the Indians way better than Harleys in years past, but yeah, they have been deteriorating in that dept... i still find them oddly attractive tho... I guess i am getting easier to please these days

Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: koko64 on November 15, 2022, 11:04:46 PM I always wanted an XR1000.
Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: convict on November 16, 2022, 07:40:18 AM 750cc race bike vs ftr1200
340lb vs 520lb $50k vs $14k cool vs tub of lard Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: koko64 on November 16, 2022, 10:21:59 AM I don't like over weight bikes. I moved from Harleys to Ducatis in the 90's. Club racing really reinforced my dislike of excess weight on motorcycles. The massive adventure/enduro bikes nowadays are oxymoronic in execution imo.
I like the overall style of the FTR, it doesn't have a heavy looking style like the new Sportster. I think Indian successfully stole HD's thunder there. I want to see HD build a sub 450 lb XR1200 street bike, but then that's pretty much the M1200. I chose the 1100Evo as I put light weight and simplicity before max hp. With a few mods the 1100Evo is sub 375lb. Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: kopfjäger on November 16, 2022, 08:17:35 PM https://youtu.be/TSpY7zU44ZY
Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: koko64 on November 16, 2022, 09:34:59 PM Doing some work on a Victory 106 Highball . Very impressed with the compact 1731cc sohc 4 valve motor, Brembo style brakes and monoshock rear end.
It's getting a PCV and dyno tuning next [evil]. I guess Victory are now Indian. Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: kopfjäger on November 17, 2022, 10:50:33 AM Victory managed reasonable sales but in 2011 the parent company purchased the rights to the Indian Motorcycle name. Unlike Victory, which was a completely new name, Indian was one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the world. It marked a turning point in Polaris' strategy.
Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: koko64 on November 17, 2022, 12:23:36 PM Yeah, I guess you can't beat a brand name like that if you want to take on HD. A history of style, innovation and racing success.
Like Ford vs Holden here for the Supercars. I was very impressed with the motor layout and what they did for performance. That would have to be the most compact 1731cc V twin around. Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: kopfjäger on November 17, 2022, 03:12:09 PM [thumbsup]
Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: Speedbag on November 18, 2022, 01:05:44 PM I always wanted an XR1000. I still do. I really like that FTR.... Title: Re: 2023 Indian Motorcycles Post by: kopfjäger on November 18, 2022, 04:52:25 PM https://youtu.be/-txpEtdsx5k
