Title: Josh Herrin ends 30 year draught in AMA Superbike Championship
Post by: paso87 on September 30, 2024, 06:30:03 PM
Believe it or not but it has been 30 years since Ducati won a Superbike Championship in the United States. The riders back then were Troy Corser and Doug Polen.  Guess what they were riding back then?  That would have been Ducati's first Superbike the 851. And they were sponsored by Eraldo Ferraci of Fast by Ferraci.  Go to the link and you will see a couple of pictures of Josh his V4R Panigale with Fast by Ferraci stickers, Eraldo Ferraci, and a Fast by Ferraci 851. By the way Doug Polen and Fast by Ferraci won two back to back World Superbike Championships after his AMA championships. In Doug's absence Australian Troy Corser won the last AMA championship before he too went to World Superbike.

Josh clinched his championship in the first race at New Jersey and in the second race he followed his teammate Loris Baz who ultimately won the second race. Josh just played it cool in the second race and finished off the podium.
