I got this bike on trade for a gun, not running. Spent a lot of time and attention getting it running and then I motor swapped it with a supersport 800 motor.
Anyway, today I made some fairing stays for my carbon fiber windscreen

Cool - keep us updated 8)
Those fairing stays were marketed as PoorDucRider 15-20 years ago [thumbsup] They do a great job at stabilizing the screen = less buffeting. However; the little tabs/"ears" seen just in front of your top triple, will/might break over time. I'm on my third or fourth U-bracket (=30,000 or so miles each).
I got both of my engine covers back from powdercoat. Stuck them on and a new clutch pack.

Such a good looking classic...
Enjoy the bike and the riding!
(side bar: the triangle cover on the RH side has a bulge which was used for the charcoal canister. Older bikes did not have the canister, so the triangle piece doesn't have the bulge. The older ones bolt right on. Just in case you're interested.)
I am sorry, I don't follow where your referring to

The black covers just under the seat. Larger on the right side.
Now I understand.
