Title: For those who experienced fraud or were outright robbed on Ebay...
Post by: GreasySnipe on June 11, 2026, 11:56:48 PM
Just as the title goes, Mine was my account was hacked and a rather obscene amount of money was spent on some obviously overpriced stuff- the tracking info on UPS was restricted by the seller as well as the phone number and email account. It was marked as delivered but yeah you guessed it, no it wasn't at least to my house. During the entire time Ebay told me really bad information such as wait till it arrives and then send it back, that works if you actually receive it. Yeah I was screwed by this seller. The last ebay representative I talked to, lets say he was not from the usual location as most of the call centers- He had a Scottish accent. He was the most helpful with information but could do nothing else- he indicated Ebay told me a bunch of wrong information and I should have gone right to the bank instead for a dispute/chargeback. My account is locked down and secure again but I'm still peeved(understatement btw) but how did anyone else fair and what did they do to recoup their cash? Did they locate the thieves and how?

I can't help with your current situation. But the way I work it is I use PayPal and never keep any money in there.

It's also not tied to any bank account. Anything I buy through it gets charged right to my cc.

Anything I sell and I have them send me a check.

Any fraud and I'm backed by my cc company.
