Wow, it's been a while since I've actually felt an earthquake. and we just had one here in Santa Ana, CA. Like, 2 seconds ago. Kinda squirrely. I'm still feeling a little wobbly. ??? Almost feels like the building is still swaying a bit but that's probably due to the blinds and light still swinging. I was just about to go out for lunch too! I wonder what it would be like to be on the bike during a quake. Not that I want to experience it first hand though. :o
Looks like it was a Magnitude 5.8...on the upper end of the "fun" spectrum! ;D
Damn, followed by twin 2.7 & 2.8 aftershocks within 6 minutes.
Then three 3.8's in the next minute. :o

...so when are we going to be a big island?
Dinky aftershocks. I couldn't even feel them out here in Santa Ana. ;D
Yeah, Luca, I'm waiting for CA to become an island too. My parent's house is supposed to become prime beach front property then. ;D
..smart real estate investment ;D
Dang, my cell phone seems to be down... I was just about to call my mom to plan things for her birthday weekend too. :(
Everybody ok out there?

Maybe not so. Animals don't like quakes and get pretty jittery afterward. Quake downgraded to 5.4

I can see them. They're asleep. They're fine.
I'm getting closer to beach-front property
I was about 50 feet from my bike and was talking to one of my customer.... suddenly I felt I got pushed from ground up and down....And we both ran outdoor and the building was shaking left and right. I saw my bike was tipping left and right 6 times.... i thought it's going fell.... :-\....... And I was thinking to run to save it (hold it) but it was parked covered parking and that freaking roof was waving.... so I think my life is more important I just saw it tipping left and right and my heart almost stop beating...
Lucky it stopped about 30 secs...

Considering plate motions and distances from the fault, Bakersfield is probably getting farther from the ocean. [laugh]

Give it another few million years, and the Golfo de California will be knocking on your door.

it was once.... I've picked sharks teeth out of the ground in the foothills.
5.4 is nothing. It only shook for about 20 seconds. I actually didn't even get up form my desk and just finished my email while it was shaking. I'm in Glendale, so I wasn't THAT close, but it's funny how many people call you after one happens.
