Title: Anyone installed Vizi-Tech tailight yet?
Post by: XJBaylor on July 30, 2008, 08:01:55 AM
I know the first order of Vizi-Tech SupaNova tailights went out and I was curious if anyone here had received theirs. If you have received it and installed it please post pictures and, more importantly, your reaction to the product.

Thanks.

I have recieved mine and installed it... no photos yet as I have been very busy.  All I can say is WOW!  I ordered the 490i with all options and a smoked lens.  Bernard made a software change from the posted video where he turns off the red led's when the signals are activated... makes them much more visible.  The best way I have heard to desribe it is a glowing block of ice... absolutely incredible.  I waited for a taillight to come along like this to finally remove my stock one and this was definately worth the wait.

I will try and get some photos this weekend and make a post on the light.

If you are in line to get one just be paitent... it is worth it!

I am also waiting for mine, got an email from them and they say at least 30days until delivery offered to send me my money back but I said it was cool i can wait. The web site video is impressive, I have the CA board now with a clear lens and a few of my LED's are blown so I hope this will be a better choice. I ordered the whole package, including the the brake light modulator. Now I just wait and wait  [coffee]
Some please post some pics!

I have had mine now for a few weeks and it ROCKS!!!!  I tried to get some pics of it in the sun. The light is SUPER bright in the day time and a few shots of the signals are with the sun shining right down on the light. I have the fully loaded 490I with plate lights. I have already had people comment on how it pops out when they are behind me and I tap on the brakes and see people notice it right away.

It is also super easy plug in and ride. There is no spicing...just un-plug your stock wiring harness from the connector under the ride side cover and plug in the new units harness...and your done.

Checked it out, saw the vid, had to have it.  Just ordered the 490 with the whole shebang.  Can't wait!  Was never crazy about the Clear Alternatives version with the turn signals integrated.  Didn't really seem like anyone could actually tell it was a turn signal, of course turn signals eliminate the element of surprise... [evil]

Turns out their lead time is a bit more than 30 days so they refunded my money less than an hour after my purchase.  Told them to keep my name at the top of the list though...

This will be my next purchase. I've been trying to figure out how I'll do my final tail chop and what to do with rear turn signals. This is definitely a winner for me  [clap]

I'll wait 60 days if I have to.  [coffee]

Seems like it's pretty nice quality but $200 for a tail light?  ???

I'm willing to pay that much for it because it takes care of the turn signals as well... all of the other tail lights that integrate turn signals haven't impressed me enough to make a purchase.

I'm not seeing the tail lights on their website?  Did they remove it?

Yeah, it is hard to find from their main website - http://www.vizi-tec.com/SUPANOVA/SupaNova_ProductInformation.htm

Looks like they aren't taking orders anymore, but you can get on a waiting list  :(

I just got an email from Bernard from Vizi-Tech. You can get on a wait list... he says 30-60 days, maybe less. He is trying to get some outsourcing set up.

If you want to be added to the wait list just send an email to sales@vizi-tec.com

Damn!!!  I wish I would have known about these a week ago.  Just got my 2nd CA integrated LED taillight (1st one got crunched in a wreck).  I liked the CA version but this is WAY nicer.  I like that it is plug and play right into the stock harness.  It looks stock!!  Ducati should take some notes.

Not just Ducati: All m-cycle manufacturers need to take note.  Actually, just about every vehicle manufacturer I can think of needs to take note.

It's rare to find any products these days that are well thought and good quality.

I noted the software changed you mentioned above that turns off the taillight when turn signals are on.  Would this also apply when you are stopped at a light/stop sign and waiting to turn?  Meaning you have NO taillight and just the turn signals?

The software update turns off the red LEDs that are in the same area as the amber signals only..the rest of the light operates as it should. The brake light's red LEDs activated and turn signals in use slightly saturated the sharpness of the signals amber LEDs...so the update just turns off the reds so the ambers are not flooded out since the system is VERY bright.
Bernard did this to make the system even sharper and clearer for the cell phone using 16 year old teenie bopper to even notice [roll]....I am surprised aircraft havent tried to land on me yet its that clear and bright.  [laugh]

I am still waiting for mine also, but I'm sure It'll be worth it.  They have been very prompt about responding to my emails, so I'm glad to not be waiting in the dark.  This update for the blinkers seems to have set him back a little bit.  I'll post up some pics also once it arrives.

They must not like you.  All my emails have been replied to promptly and clearly.  I've also done business with Vizi in the past, and have been very satisfied with the service and quality.

Keep in mind they are likely VERY busy right now, so I'd give them some leeway for responding to your queries.

EDIT: HA!  That's what I get for foruming late at night, after a day of BBQ and scotch.   [bang]  I obviously mis-read John's post.  Sorry John!  Looks like we have the same experience with ViziTek after all.    :-[

Thanks for the information.  I figured that is what would happen, but did not want to assume.   [thumbsup]

Crap I just got the same email too.  Not to happy about this, I waited a long time for nothing.  It's not like I can go out and buy something just like it from the competition either.  I guess I'll continue to wait...

I have no FHE with these guys http://www.heavycycles.com/ (http://www.heavycycles.com/)

But they have a unit for the Monster

I heard a lot of praise on the V-rod forum - hope this helps

I have the heavycycles unit on my monster and posted detailed info on TOB last year.  I liked it so much that I also put one on my 749s, which has a really anemic stock light.  The Vizi-Tech looks to be super nice!

for the price of the heavycycles unit, i would rather go for the vizitech one with integrated flasher and signals.

Any news from Vizi-Tech yet? I just installed Arrow pipes and they are literally melting my stock turn signal... I NEED an integrated solution!  :)

Their web site says to email them to be added to a waiting list.
Once they clear their back log they will contact you.

I sent them a request and got no response.

Has anyone heard back from Vizi-Tec? I got notification that I was on the waiting list on August 5th, and emailed him again January 14th but received no response.  I really need one of these, hopefully before riding season starts again here in WI. :(

I don't think I would count on it before riding season.  I made it onto the last of the waiting list around that time as well, and from Bernard's last email it seemed like it would be a while before he is able to fill the list.  I'm still waiting though!!  [bow_down]
