Title: open airbox ideas? Post by: brimo on July 30, 2008, 03:12:03 PM Have decided to use the 1 inch strip of aluminum method of holding the air filter in place, like this, http://www.ferracci.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=264
what's the best way of holding it on? I currently am using velcro (hook and loop) tape but not real confident. Don't want to use zip ties and dont want to drill or mount anything to the existing bottom half of the airbox. Any suggestions? Pics? Thanks in advance Andrew Title: Re: open airbox Post by: scduc on July 30, 2008, 03:22:25 PM I had that setup, and i used the stock spring clips. They only sit above the ring by 1/2 inch or so. It also makes for easy removal for cleaning. I would do that unless you are set on modifying your plastic box.

this is how I've got it held in at the moment seems ok but would like to get a bit more downward force on it. I am an electrician, so have zip ties comin' out of my wazoo, just reckon they look a bit "cheap" like the jobs only half done, that could just be me being fussy though...... :) |
