Since there are many iPhone users on this forum, I thought some of you might be interested in knowing that a very cool app made by Nullriver, a developer that publishes apps through Cydia now on jailbroken phones, released a tethering app distributed through the app store and sold for 10.00!!! It was pulled out soon after since the use of tethering without a specific data plan provided by AT&T is not allowed!!! This meant, that you would have been able to use your iphone's 3G or Edge internet connection to feed your laptop through WiFi!! Not all is lost though... for those with a jailbroken iphone, there is a chance that nulriver MAY distribute this cool app through Cydia (the underground app store :) ) [clap]

we'll see what happens.. we know that is out there somewhere... It's funny that there is a thread already at the hackintosh forum about it under app store.. maybe it could be available as a download to your computer at least.. we'll see..
it's back in the store right now...
The direct link is inside here http://www.macrumors.com/2008/08/01/netshare-tethering-app-reappears-on-app-store/
thanks for the link. It is still up. i just got it as well.
you guys are right! i went straight to the app store on my iphone and searched for nullriver. I dowloaded it and paid directly through my phone. I will test it now and get back with you later.
btw, it works brilliantly. I'm posting this on my tether network and it's fast as hell. Just as fast as my workplace's broadband!
People say they have it working on a PC.
The instructions are for a Mac.
I have not tried yet but anyone here using it on a PC rather than a MAC?

I have tried many different ways on vista with no success... there is no tutorial for pc yet.. if you happen to find one on a forum, let me know.

Yes you can. Don't buy it unlocked.. or you'll be paying a premium for it..you can unlock it yourself. It is easy to do.
