Yeah, I have a list of "to-do" things to make the bike legal again (Headlight, etc...)
And then it's just back to weekends I don't have the guys wt:
I'll be ready to join the US crew in a few weeks - need to do the whole "back on the horse" ride before I follow you nuts through Hellenback :e:v
whew! good to hear!
Refresh our memory as for other parts you may need...

glad to hear it. be::

I think I'm good to go!
GLantern hooked me up with new bars ( be:: to you dude!)
I bought a light and brackets from a dude on the other board.
That'll get the bike legal.
Then it's
Tail chop - have the cookie kit - and primer and paint.
new blinkers all around - have em - and have resistors.
Oh yeah, need to get to Camrod to get a new helmet, too! :bang
Couple of weeks, tops, until I'm riding with you all again. Like I said above - need to do the ole "back in the saddle" ride before I do anything serious.
Thanks again for all your support everyone. I've had a rough couple of weeks and vented some deep thoughts out on the interwebs. It's all good now.

Great! I'll go with you for your "back in the saddle" ride if you want. Is Nick putting the headlight and bar for you or are you trailering the bike home?

Howie, Thanks! May take you up on that ride offer!
Need to see if AAA will help me this time. At the crash site, no company contracted to AAA could come into a state park because none of them had some kind of special permit. :bang :bang
VERY important to know if you have some sort of emergency service ;)
T- that's really great news! Can't wait to have you out with U.S. (pun intended) again! As the "Bad luck and stupidity" thread will asset, we take care of each other and don't leave another rider behind, sort of like the marines so you don't have a thing to worry about. Fun is what it's all about, not racing. I still think you and Dizz make a great pairing although he did manage to up his game - instead of waiting 2 - 4 minutes, we're waiting ~15 seconds. Regardless, it'll be nice to have an adult out again. :)

HEY! >:( I may have graying, thinning hair and children, but that in no way makes me an "adult!"
(actually, that and the fact I don't play your hooligan games
does make me the adult of the group) mo:t:
Now, back to my coffee... co::
welcome back Tommy.. glad you didn't give up.
I'm a 61 year old granpa and haven't grown up yet.
I don't play hooligan games either, does that make me old too?
Hooligan games?
You know, like dodge ball and stuff like that.
Oh, I see. My favorite game as a kid was submarine. We'd have a big group of kids and we'd divide in half. One half lined both sides of the sidewalk and be armed with footballs and skateboards, the other half would be on their bicycles.
The object of the game (if you were on a bicycle) was to ride through the gauntlet w/o getting hit. If you got hit, you were out. The last one to survive was the winner. There were always accidents and by game's end there was always blood (nobody wore a helmet back then). I usually won... does that make me a hooligan?
My favorite game was "suicide". Basically like hand ball but no points, you screw up by missing the ball. If you miss and the other person hits the ball to the wall before you reach it, you put your hands on the wall and get hit with the ball. If you hit the ball to the wall before a bounce, the other guy puts his hands on the wall...
This game hurt after a while.
Red rover / British Bulldog
Awesome games. :D
Yeah, and schools these days are banning dodge ball and tag at recess.
Not because it may hurt getting tagged by a rubber ball at 70mph...
But because the first person "out" is now "isolated and made to feel different."

My favorite was scramble...someone had a ball & ran around trying to hit people as hard as possible in the groin & face :e:v (sorta' like dodgeball, but no boundaries).

I"m now 0 for 2 with AAA. >:(
Round 1 - no tow companies affiliated with AAA had a permit to pick up my bent up Monster in a State Park.
Round 2 - no tow companies will pick up a bike without the owner being present.
I was REALLY hoping to not have to take a day off work, but guess what I have to do on Tuesday :P!
:bang
Well, at least it's only 3 weeks out of service, not 2 1/2 months like last year 8) :-[
At least all we have had is rain so your not missing too much!
your towing it from where to where and not on AAA's dime?
Riding in the rain... no better way to about smooth throttle opening/closing and smooth braking/braking limits. Just sayin. ;)
Oh and Tommy... rent an "In town" Uhaul van to pick your bike, ask Jake, he knows all about Uhaul rentals.

I know all about Uhaul & their rates too :( I had to rent a van a couple of years ago for my CB when it crapped the bed up at Bear Mountain. I think that it costs me around ~$150 Since it's an-town rental they rape you on the cost per mile. If you need tie-downs, both Jake & I have some you can borrow, which will save you a little bit of $.

No, I am forcing this. I will be taking Tuesday off. I will drive up there and watch the AAA designated driver carefully put my bike on a carrier and lead them back into the city.
I am getting what I pay for, Dammit!! be:: I am NOT going 0 for 3 wt:
BTW - IG - I got your PM!! Thank you very much, but I'm taking a stand here. be::

If it turns out to be a no go on Tuesday. I'm available Sat. 5/17 to help you pick up your bike from Rockwell.
