Title: Clip-On, Tailchop and Exhaust Reccommendation Needed Post by: RevZilla on August 01, 2008, 08:27:25 AM Hi,
I am new to the board and just picked up a 2000 Monster Dark. Looking for a good, reputable place to pick up some mods for the bike. HAve looked around and found a mixed bag of results. Also would love to hear any recommendations for brands and models etc for Clip-ons, Chopped Tail and exhaust options. Thanks in advance, Anthony Title: Re: Clip-On, Tailchop and Exhaust Reccommendation Needed Post by: Slide Panda on August 01, 2008, 08:50:33 AM There's a big old clip on thread that covers just about every option we have. One that might be missing is the new stuff from SpeedyMoto. Run a search and you should find it. It covers a dozen or more brands.
Tailchops... What are you looking for? 1/2? Full? A kit or DIY templates? Exhausts... another can of worms. What's your preference? High? Low? Carbon? Steel? Titanium? Retro? Modern? None at all... Easiest suggestion I can make is go to motowheels.com and look at their offerings. They have a pretty wide selection, and usually have pix of the exhaust on a bike. I am still shopping for the right set of clip-ons, but I like the TPO kit for the tail chop with the Clear Alternatives light and integrated turn signals: (http://i38.tinypic.com/rb0c60.jpg) It is pretty cheap for the entire set up and cleans up the rear end nicely. The money you save can be put to the downpayment (along with a kidney, your first born child, and your soul to the devil) for my choice in exhaust, Termignoni: (http://i32.tinypic.com/25q87mf.jpg) As you will here in later postings, other exhaust, such as Arrow, look and sound every bit as good and are a little cheaper. Your exhaust setup will look a little different then mine, but the sound will be just as good. Either way, enjoy your monster and welcome to DMF! It has the cleanest look of all of the kits that you can buy and the best directions.
