I know one of the catalog items from a few years back was cell phone jammer, it sends out a signal to kill cell phone signals of people in your vicinity. It was a joke of course as it'd be highly illegal ,but I'd love to have one!

Unfortunately the side affect would be for the driver to pay even more attention as to why their phone didn't work.   [roll]

thats actually real. They had cases where people would wear them and go on trains and the whole section of train would have people wondering wtf happened since everyone is texting away there. It was in the newspaper. They made it illegal now.

If you projected a hologram of the road behind you, you'd be invisible. Cool  [thumbsup]

As already mentioned, Andy the owner has a great sense of humor. He enjoys putting fake adds in his catalog. It's a cool company that loves motorcycling. They like it so much when you ride to their building in Duluth MN, that they give you a discount. [thumbsup]

i never fail to take mine to the movies.  you never know when some teen baboon is there.  no ringing, no texting, no nothing.

Thats about the only place a phone Jammer makes any sense. Not on the Bus or train though. If I find out someone is jamming, that thing becomes mine! Yea let em call the cops.

A couple of my favorites are the powdered gasoline (just add water) and the new leather smell.

ThinkGeek is another good one for gag items - but they only do it on April 1.

haha, I jsut went back and tried to add some of the fake items to my cart.  They link to all sorts of fun sites.

If you try to add this:

I saw that book in the magazine, and thought "that's an odd write up".  Didn't realize it sent you to the bunny site. [laugh]

These guys also have some gems, including hard-to-find blinker fluid, brass balls, and engine oil bypass kits.

Completely disagree, I'm getting one and I'll be using it in traffic. At least once a week I have some yahoo, try to run me over because they are on the phone instead of driving. The only reason I haven't been hit is because I see them. I would have loved to use that on the SUV lady who was talking on the phone and clipping coupons, during rush hour, I wrote about in another thread. I'd have pulled it out in front of her and let her watch me push the button as her signal died.

and for a different perspective:    phones used fo emergencies only that are discreetely left on vibrate.    babysitter, work, etc.     so as you pull your devce out to happily jam someone's phone, you jam everyone within range who actually have a purpose for having their phone available.

I catch you doing this and I tie your life up in Court for months becuase you feel more important than everyone else around you.

You are raging against people who put themselves first and don;t consider you at all, but you are doing the exact same thing to others who are doing you no harm.

I could care less either way but, do tell, how could you tie someone's life up in Court for months for their use of a jammer?

I'm more interested in how I can look like a Boeing (besides more pancakes), I'll admit.

It would be almost impossible to find the guy with the jammer, unless you have something that can detetch the source.
but if you could, hed have every right to sue the guy in court, and would have a chance at winning, thats is he was unlucky enough to need the cell phone at taht specific momment (which is a 1 in a million coincidence chance).

And besides, they are illegal for that very reason. Cell phones arent city chat toys, they are serious tools.

And ofr the cost of buying one, hell you could make one for MUCH cheaper via radio shack.

No I don't feel I'm more important than others around me. I'm talking about using it in traffic, where my LIFE has been threatened repeatedly, by inconsiderate drivers chatting with the s/o about shoppiing lists and the Tyra Banks Show. You wanna talk about tying somebodies life up in court? God help me if I get hit on my bike some dink on a cellphone, and I see that is the reason the accident happened? Oh Lord, I'm nailing his ass to the wall! If I can avoid that by forcing him to have a dropped call? Yeah, I guess I'm the dumb ass. Did you read my post? I'm not talking about just walking around with it on. I carry a cell too, I'd be blocking my own calls. I'm talking about carrying it to combat situations that are already illegal in many cities across the US(ie drivers on cells).
