So true.  Just what people need, one more thing to both distract them while they drive as well as facilitate eating even more fast food.

Walmart is the target market for those things too... I'm sure the average Walmart shopper will pickup atleast one.

The only thing I see that being useful for is a passenger on long trips and stuff.  I personally hate eating off my lap so something up close would be cool.  If it was actually sturdy and had some structural integrity you could even have a nicely prepared meal on it!

lol but yeah that's pretty bad...

Damn!  I wish I'd thought of that. ;D

Maybe I could afford to buy a 1098R with the royalties from something like that. 8)

I'm sure the idiots that sell this crap say it's "intended" for passengers...  we all know that's not who buys this though...

The ones that do are the people driving by themselves in SUV's like they own the road already.  Just another thing to keep them occupied rather than checking their blind spots.

Just wait a few more years and these will be standard on every SUV, minivan, cross-over or whatever other gas guzzler that conjure up.  I saw a car at the Detroit Auto Show that has a microwave in it... so go figure.

or break off the stand, and just use the tray as a frisby to hit bad cage drivers in the face.

two things good can come from this.

1: bad driver is impailed by it when they crash

2: if a driver has one and happens to drive in a such a way as to be a nuisance..... you can beat him with it.

Honestly I'm surprised by how surprised everyone is by this.  I mean, its a bit over the top but really just par for the non-attentive do anything BUT drive oblivions that have become the norm.  Seriously who here hasn't been run out of their lane by a driver reading a book, talking on the phone, and coming soon to a highway near you eating a 3 course meal.

reminds me of something i saw the other day...

i saw a woman on a cruiser, who had a cup holder on one of her saddlebags.
in it she had a large iced coffee, with a straw in it.

everytime she turned, stopped, etc... she looked back to see if it fell  :-\
almost as ridiculous as the product in the OP.

For those who love obesity AND SUVs, WalMart brings you the "Glutton Rest!"  Just grab your Big Mac from the tray, and chomp away!!!

Hey, this is actually a good thing for motorcyclist safety.  By placing the platter of fat 12 inches closer to their face, it provides less driving time with no hand on the wheel (considering the other hand is clutched around their cell phone).  Now, if these drivers would just wear the beer holder hats with the straws that run down to their mouth so they could contantly funnel the diet drink  to their belly hands free, they would always have at least one hand in control and would stay in their lane a little more.
