Title: Bar risers for 05 S2R 800? Post by: Dream on August 05, 2008, 08:29:33 AM So I have searched high and low for some bar risers for my bike but the only ones I can find are these ones on ebay:

Title: Re: Bar risers for 05 S2R 800? Post by: IdZer0 on August 05, 2008, 08:56:02 AM I think the S2R1000 bar risers also fit the S2R800 so these should fit as well:

I have not noticed any flex with my cheaper ones, less bling yes but no flexing. Title: Re: Bar risers for 05 S2R 800? Post by: stopintime on August 05, 2008, 12:45:13 PM Do you have them on your bike? I have not noticed any flex with my cheaper ones, less bling yes but no flexing. Yes, I do. In theory they will be more stable because of the bridge on top - don't know if that is a major concern. The machining is from one solid piece and that has to make them stronger than stock + cheap risers (although that might just move the "problem" to the new weak link, stock triple) My dealer's head tech was impressed. He doesn't like most aftermarket parts, but was willing to recommend these to other customers. IMO they must be stronger and more stable, but I don't know if that's really needed. Bling factor did it for me [laugh] (http://i329.photobucket.com/albums/l394/stopintime/mirror2.jpg) Title: Re: Bar risers for 05 S2R 800? Very happy with them. Title: Re: Bar risers for 05 S2R 800? Post by: uclabiker06 on August 05, 2008, 07:11:49 PM Anyone have pics of the other ones installed? I wonder if they block you vision to the instrument panel. Stopintime, how big of a difference did your risers make in terms of comfort? Am I correct in assuming that you cannot have a steering damper if you go with risers??

LESS BLING! OMG! Can we do that??? [bang] Title: Re: Bar risers for 05 S2R 800? Post by: stopintime on August 05, 2008, 11:28:01 PM LESS BLING! OMG! Can we do that??? [bang] I have heard of people doing it that way. Could be just rumours? (Thanks for the PMpictures BTW [thumbsup]) Title: Re: Bar risers for 05 S2R 800? Stopintime, how big of a difference did your risers make in terms of comfort? Am I correct in assuming that you cannot have a steering damper if you go with risers?? I haven't had any problems with the view and I don't think the other ones (Genmar?) will create such problems either. It might be an issue for shorter riders? They made a huge difference - I was surprised how little it takes to improve ergonomics. I played with rotation of the bars to find where my hands/wrists fall into their most straight/natural position. Then I rotated the levers on the bar so they are easily reached without stretching or flexing the wrists. Only fingers should move. The best position is where the natural grip/operation of levers allows the elbows to hang loose - not outwards (=neckpain). Monster bars tend to force peoples elbows out (hooligan/cross style) as opposed to loose/down (roadracing style). If I knew all my options earlier I would have considered the Rizoma bars, which have about the same rise built into them. Plus the important sweep back feature which allows for straight wrists with loose elbows. (a very good idea IMO) Steering dampers might be hard to fit, I guess (another selling point regarding the Rizoma route). Or you can have them side mounted. Title: Re: Bar risers for 05 S2R 800? Post by: Wanwo on August 06, 2008, 03:25:01 AM Here I've got some modified Genmars to fit my stock triple and non-standard bar. It has transformed the ride. One of my fondest mods.

I am using them as a stop-gap until I install my clip-ons. (I don't have them on for comfort, I actually don't like sitting up so straight.) Rather, they were necessary for clearing the emulators on the 998 fork I installed. Bling factor is way low, but I have detected zero flex and they are made well. Plus, they were only $80 or so.
