Hey guys.
I really suck at photoshop and I know there are some people here who are awsome at it. Could someone please make the frame, swingarm, and wheels red on my bike so I can get an idea of what it would look like?
Thanks,
'Mash

do the frame up red, leave the swing arm silver, and do the wheels in white!

Or continue the tri-color theme....Red Frame, White Swingarm and Green Wheel!!!!! :'(
IMO, Red frame, black out the swing arm and leave the wheels. I mean... if I were to, say buy a bike from you.. that'd how I'd want it to look ;D
Gags aside, either my suggestion above, or do the wheels red as well, but black out the swing arm. The asymmetrical nature of that part already draws extra attention from the eye, and making it red will draw the eye even more causing people to focus on the swing arm, and not the rest of the bike.
On the photoshop note... it's a lot more difficult to do color adjustments on Black items... so good results will be more difficult.
Thanks for the photoshop FlyADuc! [thumbsup] Hate to ask, but any change you could do the wheels/swingarm/frame in a light gold like the Tricolore?

Come on Yuu, you wouldn't buy a bike from me would you? Oh....wait........too late. ;D
If all goes well with the DP cams and ECU on Friday it'll be a long, long time before I sell this one. [moto]

Well I just wanted to be sure you going to pass me on the front straight on the SV. [laugh]
Red frame, BLACK swing arm, leave the wheels black and just put a red pin stripe....or leave it just the way it is as it looks perfect.
+1 to the red frame, black swingarm, and red rim-stripe.
I think that would be a killer combination. [thumbsup]

In all seriousness, I'm in the process of putting it back to stock and selling it. Took the Ohlins rear shock off in (literally) 35 minutes in Scott's driveway last night ... LOL

I'm still trying to decide what I want to do. At the very least I plan on having the swingarm powder coated black. I have red rim stripes at home I ordered a few months ago and just never put them on. Maybe I'll do that this weekend and see how it looks.

Well... DUH!
But we have something here in New England called Winter which kinda hinders that for about 5 months. [roll]
These are mods I plan to do over the winter months when I can't ride. [thumbsup]

No worries!! Glad to help out... The muted gold of the Tricolore looks great on the original bike! I wasn't feeling the red, but that muted gold might be a head-turner!!(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2210/2740051003_5994ceca35.jpg)
Wow, that looks pretty f'ing good too!
I'd have a hard time deciding between those two.

The red frame and rim strips puts your bike in the naked supermodel category! Tail chop either way. I love your exhaust, more so if ceramic coated black and maybe some carbon or modified belt covers.
- I have come to terms that the modifications will never end, now to just convince my wife-
Red frame with red wheel stripe gets my vote... but maybe something that would go along with the paint job (looks amazing) one side could be red one could be green? (matches the striping) that might be just to crazy but very unigue just throwing it out there.

Adam
Wow, that gold looks awsome!
The only thing that would stop me from going with it is that the gold on the rotors really looks off next to the muted gold.
Hmmmmm.......
I might just have to have the carriers anodized black. [thumbsup]
I'm gonna have to flip-flop on this one...the gold looks amazing. It completely transforms the bike. I would say that the red frame, black swingarm and rim-stripe makes the bike look mean/sharp/aggressive. The gold softens it a bit and makes it look super classy and sexy....

now you just have to decide which woman you would rather have. the classy, sexy woman you have to caress and whisper sweet nothings into her ear (in italian) or the young chick with the crazy hair and fake tits thats itching to be ridden hard and put up wet.
ok, i was all for the red frame, black swingarm, pen-striping on the rims, but the gold is awesome

Well then in that case I've already made my choice as I married the classy, sexy woman....
:)
so red frame, black swingarm and red pinstripe it is!!
It needs more dirt.
I know you put a decent chunk of work into those tips, but I feel like puting a different color on those would help to accentuate the whole exhaust. If you go with black rims, black tires, black swing arm and black exhaust, even with the red strips it would be one big muddy mess.
I agree with the disk carrier issue as well. The front wheel area has a lot going on already, so some contrast is definitely necessary.
I really dig the exhaust, but maybe change the color of the wheels to a kind of dark charcoal (or just buy bst carbons ;D ) and have the entire exhast (not just the tips) blacked out so it pops a bit more. I've always thought the swingarm looked good bare though. It seems as though the right side of the bike should show off the wheel and the exhaust while the left should put more emphasis on the awesome swingarm. Again, blacking it out would make the whole thing muddy.
The gold wheel/gold swingarm looks pretty dope, but I'd make sure you had them done at the same place at the same time to make sure the shades of gold match. You also have a smoth finish on the wheels and a bead blasted finish on the swingarm, which is going to make the powdercoat appear a different shade. Just my $.02. Glad we have some photoshop whizzes on the board! It makes it a whole lot easier to visualize this kind of thing. Just remember though, the guys who design these didn't get the job because they had a shitty eye for aesthetics. I'm a firm believer in the concept of "less is more".

It's simple! You need one of each! [thumbsup] ;D
I like the gold, but I'd say black swingarm instead of gold.
So for now I went with the red rim stripe.

The red stripes look really good.
It might look good if you get your exhaust tips powdercoated the same black color that you get your swingarm done in.

No, I was trying to be P.C. I would have killed the dealer that is doing the Sato group buy. What a tool. How can he let one customer in Brazil hold up all his finances? I think it's just an excuse and I'd be pissed if I had gotten into the group buy. Wait a second.....I am pissed he doing it to you guys! >:(

Ok, so winter is pretty much upon us so I'm starting to think about some major changes for the S2R1K.
I figured it was time to revive this thread to see what every one thought.
I was looking at the photoshop pics again and I can't decide between the red or the gold frame.
The swingarm is definately going to be black and I'm pretty sure I'm leaving the stock wheels black for now although I may be springing for an aftermarket set soon. ;)
What do you guys think? Should I go with the red or the gold frame. If I do the gold I want to try and get as close to the stock Ducati color on the Tricolore as I can.
The red frame and black swingarm would complete it, IMO.
i think the rim tape was a good addition... here are a few photoshop pics for you..
the first one is with black swingarm and some black engine parts
second blacck swingarm with red frame
third is black swingarm red frame and black engine parts
last black swingarm with red frame and wheels.
whatever you choose to do this is an amazing bike
i think the black engine parts though would be an awesome addition

Too many colors on this bike IMO: red, while, black, green and gold. Loose the green stripes and paint over the checkered flag and Ducati emblem on the sides of the tank. Oh, and replace the red brake lines with black ones. ;D
forget the red. black out the swing arm, the clutch housing and the alternator housing on the other side and the rear sets and call it a day.

Your right, it was offered but my tank is considerably different with the Italian flag colors running over it and the checkered flag on the side.
I really like the gold as well but if I do it in gold I'm going to feel like it's not complete unless I do the wheels in the same color. [bang]
