What should I expect for the 7500 mile service cost on a '07 695?

A reasonable price would be around $300.

How much does your dealer want to charge?  Make sure they have a full checklist of everything that they do to earn their money.

300 $ is for the 1000 km one.
Its more 1000 $ for the 12000 km one.
Well...its a whole days work and all...

I only paid around $150 for my first service and that's with a 14T sprocket purchased and installed.

I really don't know, I haven't asked DucSea what they charge yet... but I like the sound of $300 as opposed to $1000

I paid $119 for my first service on the 696 today.

1000 is a bit high!

If you pay that much for the 7500 service on a 4 valve engine you recieved a brutal raping. On a 2 valve it should be even less. My dealer quoted me about 700 with a full shim kit for my s4rs. They also said they would credit me for the unused shims. I would be surprised if that service on a 2 valver was over 500 bucks.

you guys should note the guy speaking in kms is probably canadian, everything in canada costs more.

Mine is in now for this service. The estimate is about $600, Dallas/Fort Worth area. I've heard from some of the cost being even higher.

People need to keep in mind that service costs vary widely by region.  Just because someone can get it done for $300, doesn't mean everyone can.  :P

But they SHOULD be able to.  That's the point.

I live in Los angeles, I just got mine a month ago and it was $450.00 I had one exhaust valve that needed a shim.

as long as they keep people coming in, they can still make money doing that where as i think some other shops wouldnt get bikes coming in *quite* as often(as that shop is in probably the most over populated parts of the US). just an idea though.

Nichols seems like a great shop.  They also benefit from being in a heavily populated area with year-round moto weather.  I'm not sure a shop which experiences a slow winter season could compete with those prices...they need to make enough money in the summer to make it through the winter.

my dealer wants to chrage me 600 to 700 deoending on the shims.  Does anyone know if when you don't have your bike worked on by a certified mechanic your warranty is void?

It seams to be a grey area, The Moss Magnuson act does protect you to an extent.  You do have to prove that all work was preformed properly with factory parts to maintain warenty though.  The 7500 mile service requires a belt tensioning and if it has been 2 years the belts need to be replaced.  I do most of my own maintenace and as of yet it has not caused any warenty issues, as my closest dealer is over 100 miles away I tend to try and avoid the dealer at all costs though.

Take a look at Nichols Manufacturing (http://www.nicholsmfg.com/) and see what else goes on at that same facility.
If all moto shops were attached to multi-million dollar aerospace machine shops, their prices might be lower.

My shop; 6k/7.5k service - $522/$530 respectively for wet clutch/dry clutch 2-valve Monsters.

That's out the door, includes the oil and filter and 9.75% sales tax.

Over here would be around 300 euros (450 USD) according to official Ducati price list....but this of course doesn't include Brake Pads, tyres....so the amount is bound ti rise ( still that you bring your bike to an official Ducati Dealer)....at least this is my experience,,,,
