Title: Anyone got a 696?
Post by: Speeddog on August 08, 2008, 08:14:27 AM
Free oil and filter change to the first person who'll bring one in to the shop and leave it for a day or two.

if I bring the 1098 in w/o all the bodywork on it (avg .402) does that make it a 696.... and does it qualify me for the free service?

 [laugh]

Just had my break in service... when i get to the point of needing new oil, i may take you up on it, if the offer still stands.  (but if i haven't gotten around to installing the sliders i bought by that point... they may have to go into the deal)

I'm coming up on my first service probably after this week's ride (560mi on it right now), but may I ask why?

I've yet to have one in for service.

I've looked at them at dealers, but really not had a chance to inspect one in enough detail.
I want to be able to accurately quote service costs, as there's substantial differences in how they're built.

Scotty said "they are a b1tch" I don't know how accurate you can get your quote with that, but that's all I got.  :)

I haven't had a chance to get out on my bike.  Was supposed to get another issue fixed under warranty on Saturday and the folks at SoCal Triumph & Ducati basically told me it's a two hour wait and they don't know if they can get my bike done that day (aside from those two 1098s getting serviced I was the only person who brought in a Duc that morning).  I want to get this turn signal BS taken care of first, haven't put any mileage on the bike in the past week.

don't use your signals, then you'll be fine in the meantime.  (use your arm to signal) [bacon]
