hey team.
i have close to 2000km on my 07,695, and had the termi and dp ecu installed a month or so ago. Today when i turned the bike on to leave work, let it idle with the fast idle on around 2000rpm for abøut 30 seconds while i got my gear on, turned the fast idle off, and put the bike in gear and it stalled. (the kickstand was up). Turned on the motor again but stalled momentary after. So the third time, i left the fast idle on as i pulled out for a bit then off and the rest of my ride home was fine. But i did notice that once the engine got up to temperature, the idle was still just one notch above the 1000rpm line (i guess that would be 1200rpm), barely ever touching really or going above it.
is this normal? did the engine just need to warm up longer? (its abøut 20 Celsius here today).
Should i take it to the dealer and have them set the idle higher, or whats the deal.
thanks for any advice.
i have the same issue on my s4r. i'm getting it fixed (hopefully) tonight by getting the idle raised. only difference is that my bike idles below 1k rpm, lol. i asked the same question here and most of the guys said it's because of a low idle speed. i'll let you know how my results turn out.
I had close to 8K on my 695 and it started to do what you are describing. When I dropped it off at the dealer for my 7.5K service they said that was normal and that they would take a look at it. When I got it back from service it was fine for a day or so then it started happening again. So far it only happens when I am warming up after sitting over night. I will start it with the fast idle at 1500 rpm's and it will idle ok for a few seconds and then cough and die. It does this at least twice every morning. I am going to take it to Valley Ducati and see if it can be fixed.
Sorry I wasn't [bang] any help but you are not the only one out there!
thanks for that, please do keep me informed on the outcome of both your service visits. I'm still under warranty, so i definitely want this issue dealt with while it won't cost me. I guess it could be as simple as raising the idle speed?
1200 is a normal idle speed. Needing fast idle for that long is not. '07 bike, DP part installed by dealer? Warranty. TPS and CO trim should be checked.

yes all DP parts installed by dealer. what is tps and co trim? i wil see if the problem continues and if it does, I'll take it in.

TPS is Throttle Position Sensor.
CO trim is fuel mixture (most effective at idle speed).
Both are set using the factory scan tool. Both should have been done by the dealer. CO could be off if the bike wasn't warmed up enough. I'm not saying this was done wrong, but wrong settings could cause your problem. When you bring the bike to the dealer just describe the symptoms. Diagnosis is their job.
My 695 is right there with you guys.
(Just got it from the first owner who did poor maintenance.)
30 seconds after I turn off the fast idle, it stalls out.
I was thinking to adjust the idle speed, but now will look at the TPS.
Did anyone have any results?

Sounds normal to me. My bike needs about 2-3 minutes when its cold, but no more. I set the fast idle at about 1100-1200 while warming the bike up. Once warm mine idle as you describe.
How's the low-RPM torque? Once warmed up, my motor pulls the bike as low as 1800-2000rpms without feeling like it's going to stall.
Disclaimer: I left the baffles in my Termis.
Should i take it to the dealer and have them set the idle higher, or whats the deal.
thanks for any advice.
