Trying to post a picture hosted by Picasa...
Got it!
Thanks JBubble.
hrmm, that didn't work at all...
need some help?
Yeah, I think so.
When I'm in the Picasa account, on the right hand side of the screen, there is a space which reads:
HTML to embed in website
I thought the way to embed was to copy that text, and insert it between the IMG /IMG tags (with brackets), but that's not working.
Specifically, the copied text is:
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/dbnoyola/NiceGuysMotorcycleClub/photo#5036381940486305842"><img src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/dbnoyola/ReTSsOPg-DI/AAAAAAAAAAY/2mIU-SrrLZg/s800/DSC_0490.jpg" /></a>
(https://lh5.ggpht.com/dbnoyola/ReTSsOPg-DI/AAAAAAAAAAY/2mIU-SrrLZg/s800/DSC_0490.jpg)
Got it.
Take the second link in that string and post it inside the img brackets.
[ img ]https://lh5.ggpht.com/dbnoyola/ReTSsOPg-DI/AAAAAAAAAAY/2mIU-SrrLZg/s800/DSC_0490.jpg[ /img ]
What you can also do is right click on the picture in Picasa and choose Properties. There should be a value called "Image Location". Copy and past that url and it should work too.
Man, you guys sure are helpful. And speedy.
Thanks!

(actually, I have one more quick question, while I have your attention!)
I tried (in my Help! post) to hyperlink to Corsair Industries. I successfully linked to it, but know there must be a way to avoid the long tag and substitute it for one word.
Example:
the link I was getting at is
http://www.corsair-industries.com/parts/Ducati%20Tools/Ducati%20Alternator%20Cover%20Removal%20Tool/ (http://www.corsair-industries.com/parts/Ducati%20Tools/Ducati%20Alternator%20Cover%20Removal%20Tool/)
However, I'd like it to link from just one word, in that particular case, the word THESE.
By wedging the http between the URL /URL tags, I got a link, but am I able to substitute the actual http text with a word or two to clean things up?
Again, thanks for your help. You'd think still being (just) under thirty I'd be a little more computer savvy!
Good question. If you want to just shrink a url, you can go here: tinyurl.com (http://tinyurl.com)
In your case, it turns out like this: http://tinyurl.com/634tue (http://tinyurl.com/634tue)
I know theres a way to turn a word into a link. Lemme research. Hold please...
*insert cheesy hold music here*

you almost got it. right click on the image on that flickr page and you'll see the option to copy image location. then paste that image location between the image tags. like so:
if you hit reply with quote, you'll see the specific code.
Thanks so much, JBubble!! I'm a bit of a luddite . . . :-[
Anyone know how to get pics in the lower part of the postings (signature area?)? I must be missing something.

The entire sig area is limited to 100 pixels (including your text). This is the most likely cause of your issue.

What seems to be happening, for a reason I can't explain, is the picture doesn't appear on the forum until I go to your kodak gallery and view it.
i can see them.
when i try to put them on the board, i right click, go to properties, and copy, paste the url

No. You don't have to make a new post each time. You could just keep editing one.

uh ok. not sure how that matters since we can't.
only way i see it is if i go to the kodak gallery and look at, like ducpainter. flickr works on here.

try right click/copy image location...
or are you using IE and don't have that option?
guess i don't have that option.
right click and there is no 'copy image location'
just plain 'copy'

I don't understand why it doesn't.
Looks like you're trying to use the file path on your computer to share the image. You'll have to upload it to a website (most use Flickr or Photobucket or something similar) to share it on here.
Hope that helps.

View the image...not the thumbnail... on the hosting site and right click it.
If you are using IE click properties and copy the image location...if you are using firefox it will give you the option to copy image location.
Come here and paste the link in your post

If you click it it takes you to your flickr page, but not the actual image address.
If you click the all sizes button and then copy that address you get the link that will work.
