question 1: is it your blood?
Hydrogen Peroxide has worked for me in the past. Let it sit for a bit (about 2 minutes), then blot up. Repeat as necessary.
I've also heard of using shaving cream. Just spray it on, rub, and supposedly the stain comes out.

if left on too long, wouldnt it discolor the carpet? I say club soda
it may be best to replace the carpet. just get it done one day while the wife is away and when she comes home tell her "happy birthday!!" even if its nowhere near her birthday. when she gets suspicious of why you did such a thing, tell her you dont really know and just felt like a change.
More blood should do the trick...
Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire...

That's why you don't leave it on for a really long time, a minute or two, then scrub it out. I'd test it with a small area near the edge.
Utility knife. Then move the sofa over the hole, no matter where it is. Plead "Feng shui, baby! It's feng shui!"
OXY clean or whatever it's called has worked great in the past.
Move.
Change your name.

Stay away from it during that time of the month.
HEY -OH!
put it in perspective for her....make her realize there are far worse things you could have done to the house/dogs/furniture than what happened and let her know how happy you are that she is so understanding.
then sleep inside a lcoked room with your riding gear and a stab proof vest on.

Does this have to do with your recent mod?
question 2: will you go to jail if anyone else sees the blood?
"Spot magic" got the blood out of my carpet...although it was just a few drops.

...carefull because it might discolor the crpet too! ;D
ICE is what worked 100% of the times i have had blood stains to remove...
the sooner the better!!! rub a cube of ice and clean with paper...
I guess it depends on who's blood it is. If its not yours and it can be used as evidence against you by either law enforcement or your wife (worse case scenario) I would suggest burning down the house and moving to Taclakastan.
blot don't rub ;)

Simple Solution, you can get it in pet stores. Trust me, it works. I accidently clipped Lanas' dew claw too short...talk about a gusher! [puke]
Spray it on, let it sit for a couple of mins. and blot it up. Do that a couple of times if necessary and even run a carpet cleaner over it after.

Seriously, in my "family" days, we'd use the phrase "cements cheap, rivers deep".
Mom always said a little club soda would take it out...but that was before CSI.

Do we get an update? Was the stain removal successful? Did someguy's life end at the hands of Ms. Incredible? Inquiring minds want to know.
Plus, I'm curious which stain removal technique he decided to try, if any.
So...can someone tell me the best way to remove a large quantity of fresh human blood (about 5 liters or so) that is on top of an old, dried blood stain? [evil]
[cheeky] [laugh]
Am I the only one that's curious how the blood got there in the first place? Or did I miss an explanation? Any chance I might see this on an upcoming episode of CSI or COPS?

If you'd done it
right there wouldn't be that much blood. ;)
But now that you're in for a pound, I'm guessing you've got hardwood floors hiding under all that carpet anyway. You should pull it all up to find out.

It appears as though she drained him every last drop, which means she did it
right, but not in the same sense as a sane person not wanting to get caught would see as the right way. More of how a vengeful sadist would view it as having done it right.

I must have missed the explanation too. I'm hoping to catch it on COPS in a few weeks.

no, the imnplication was that if she did it right there wouldn't be a larger fresher blood stain. there would be no stain at all.
remember, bleach kills the protien that shows human blood. (at least it does on CSI)
She's smart....I doubt there's any stain..
Now, he like dirt and bacon...HMMMM!!! Was there a stain int he first place???
I think not - in the way we're thinking. She posted AFTER he posed the question. She's alive - and not pissed enough to call him names.
Inquiring minds want to know...we'll find out the week of the 25th!!!

I used black paint. Can't see the blood at all!
