Title: Re: Where? Post by: NEIKOS on August 18, 2008, 12:12:14 PM That wasn't a storm.
Title: Re: Where? Post by: ryandalling on August 18, 2008, 01:18:51 PM That wasn't a storm. Is that to be read with a Crocodile Dundee accent? "That aint a knife.... this is a knife." [thumbsup] Title: Re: Where? Post by: NEIKOS on August 18, 2008, 01:23:27 PM Nah . . . gotta use a Noel Lord voice to go with that one. ;)
Title: Re: Where? Post by: SaltLick on August 18, 2008, 03:35:47 PM We were camping at Ft. Stevens last night when the rain started up around 11pm and was pouring by 3am. Nothing like waking up to water inside your tent and half of your pillow wet. Funny shit. We booked this trip last year to get into that place. I wouldnt have thought it would be pouring rain in the middle of August. So we packed up this Am and left for home. When you got a 6 year old and a dog with you while camping, it aint much fun sitting around a wet mud bog all day.
On another note, mike i was telling my wife on the trip down there about your B&B. Where is it at again? i know you have a website ive seen it. What is the url again? Title: Re: Where? Post by: duc_fan on August 18, 2008, 06:16:50 PM Been at work. It's been a freakin' busy day. :P
Also drove over to Clackamas/Sunnyside area during lunch to submit my application for a CHL. Within 6 weeks I should be receiving my license to carry. Mua-ha-ha-ha... [evil] Title: Re: Where? Post by: NEIKOS on August 18, 2008, 06:57:57 PM ON my last trip Ryan kept announcing when I did things I wasn't supposed to or that were illegal or that . . . well you get the idea.
So I'm reading that last statement thinking . . . why do I need a license to carry? Mwaaaaa haaaa haaaaaaaa! [evil] Title: Re: Where? Post by: duc_fan on August 18, 2008, 07:13:57 PM Yeah... my guess is the things you did wrong wouldn't result in an automatic arrest and disqualify you from ever purchasing a firearm again. ;) I'd rather avoid the felony of being caught carrying without a permit.
Title: Re: Where? Post by: jdubbs32584 on August 18, 2008, 07:30:27 PM Is it hard to get a permit? I've thought about doing that...

Oregon is like the easiest state to get it. You take a class. Nevada, I actually had to qualify on the range, Washington... you just show your Oregon one and tell them that you visit Washington a lot and you want to be legal there... California... well, you need the Governor to request you to be able to have one... hard to do. Texas... it's just legal in Texas always to conceal. Title: Re: Where? Post by: Mother on August 18, 2008, 11:38:47 PM Is it hard to get a permit? I've thought about doing that... Not really last time I had one you just had to take a class and then just fill out a form to renew but that was a decade ago I imagine that with 9/11, the system is changed Title: Re: Where? I'm sorry . . . have we met? My name is Chuck . . . I'm naughty ;D Not you Ryan . . . the husband of my friend Susan Ryan . . . Yah, in VT when I carried . . . it was illegal to walk around with a gun in sight! You could carry it "concealed" and be OK but if it was in the open it was considered . . . gah . . . assault I think. No permit required. This I always found odd because every truck had a gun rack full of guns . . . that's not concealed. Oh, and the hunters walking through town with their rifles slung over their shoulders . . . that's not concealed . . . 1st time you walk in a bank with a pistol under your jacket and there are [leo] outside and in you start to wonder if the State Trooper you talked to was forthright or whether you'd been set up and here's your opportunity to find out. Title: Re: Where? Post by: duc_fan on August 19, 2008, 11:52:13 AM Is it hard to get a permit? I've thought about doing that... Not difficult here in OR. You take a classroom lecture that covers legal matters. Then you fill out the County application paperwork and pay your $65 ($15 to the State Police for the background check, $50 to the County Sheriff for their application fee). If you get approved (which a resident must be, unless they meet specific disqualification criteria), you'll get your permit sometime within 6 weeks. Must be renewed every 4 years (or so the gal at the office told me). Note that different states have different standards and laws, so definitely check the local statutes before making any assumptions. --- On another tangent, I think this was a successful threadjack. ;D Title: Re: Where? Question #2: Why are you asking the priest for a permit? church and state aren't allowed to talk to each other either; naughty, naughty, thats more time in confession and less time riding!
