I fish for anything that swims, but that is usually flyfishing for trout or smallmouth around MD. I travel a lot, so I do a fair amount of saltwater fishing in New England, Florida and Mexico as well.

Cool, its been a few years but we used to fish for stripers at the rock island above Chain Bridge.....good stuff!

Been there, done that ;D I'm at Fletcher's Boathouse just about every day from the end of March through May fishing for stripers and shad. This year was a great one - caught several stripers over 40 pounds and saw one caught that was pushing 60 pounds. I already can't wait for spring.......

Biggest Ive pulled out of there was probably 20 lbs.....love to run into a 40 lb.er! Havent tried live/cut bait there, mainly bucktails with some decent success...

All of these big fish were caught at O'dark thirty on whole live herring, very early in the season (can't keep yet). I have had decent success with lures there, but like you said the lure fish are generally smaller......I'll post some pics when I get home from this business trip.
