Title: Newbie! Post by: SR1K_Femme on August 22, 2008, 04:30:29 PM Just wanted to say 'hi'. I posted in the 'introduction' section on the main page, but thought I'd do the same here. Smiley
Picked up my 07 S2R1000, exactly one month and 3 days now. Despite her plaguing stalling issue I love it!! I've ridden for over 2 years, but you can't really count the Honda CBR600 a 'real' bike now right?? Ha Ha. Gotta say the curve of riding an Inline vs a Twin is WAY different that's for sure, but each definitely has their own unique *woohoo* factor! Look forward to checking out the ongoings in here and looking for rides, before I beloved um "summer" is gone for good. :) Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: jdubbs32584 on August 22, 2008, 04:33:51 PM Watch out for Chuckles (aka Neikos). He's creepy. ;)

Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: JohnnyDucati on August 22, 2008, 04:45:56 PM Grabs pen, jots down.. (chuckles = creepy) Ok got it, thanks girl! LOL Bon jour, mademoiselle. Bienvenue. Je pense que vous ete une 'femme', oui? :) Translated: hey, welcome aboard. Take note that there's a ride starting out from Motocorsa tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM. New riders are always welcome. Hope to see you there. Oh, and just so it's clear - I'm not Chuck! ;D JohnnyDucati Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: SR1K_Femme on August 22, 2008, 05:24:24 PM Well I can meet you guys down at MotoCorsa, though my bike will already be down there. :( She's got a random stalling issue that's got the boys at MC puzzled. Hated to give them an easy fix right?? Lol
Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: duc_fan on August 22, 2008, 07:11:56 PM Welcome! [thumbsup]
So, you done much lurking on this board? Have you been made aware of the weirdness? ;) Don't mean to scare you off, just tryin' to be honest. Nice tagline, btw... "Twins Basil... TWINS!" So anyway, hope your bike gets fixed pronto, so you can join us on another group ride. Next weekend perhaps? Title: Re: Newbie! Oh, and just so it's clear - I'm not Chuck! ;D JohnnyDucati And yes, I am of the female ilk. See, gotta love French translation. ;) That and my friend was miraculously still up on that side of the world to ask. I only know enough to get me in trouble. :) Title: Re: Newbie! I'm a female rider as well, I ride a ninja but not at the moment, got a little one due in October. Anyway, hope to see you around!! BTW I love your sig line, is that a joker reference? I LOVE that character, I even have him as my ringback tone so when you call my cell phone the joker tells you to kill the batman. :D Title: Re: Newbie! Hated to give them an easy fix right?? Lol Ding! (light bulb over head goes on) I think I saw your ride in person when I was at the Motocorsa shop tonight. I went down there to pick up my axle slider that the mechanic forgot to re-install on my bike last week. Termi slip-ons, etc., black with white go-faster stripe, etc. Sweeet! [thumbsup] Hope they fix 'er up quickly for you. J Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: SR1K_Femme on August 22, 2008, 09:13:44 PM Alas no Termi's on mine, unless you were referring to yours Johnny. Mine has full Ohlins suspension though, so she has her own (golden) niche out there among the S2R's. ;) Well I have Brad scratching his head and "I get a heart palpation every time you pull up'. HIS words not mine. LAUGHING.
Thanks Dangerous.. I know that's you Cierra. Congrats on almost being 'free' to ride again.. Oh wait you'll have a newborn. You still have 18 years till you're 'free'. LOL Think they make baby seats for solo cowls?? :) Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: Betty Rage on August 22, 2008, 10:42:36 PM Wow I totally didn't recognize who you were until I checked out your YIM name!! How are you girl?
Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: NEIKOS on August 23, 2008, 06:04:38 AM Watch out for Chuckles (aka Neikos). He's creepy. ;) Who let the 12 year old South Carolinian back in? Keep the door closed damn it. :P Welcome. And for the record . . . we're not creepy she's just from the south - It's one of those my uncle-grandfather-brother-father is my sisters 2nd husband kinda things . . . they get a little soft in the head after a while [laugh] Title: Re: Newbie! Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: SR1K_Femme on August 23, 2008, 09:31:02 AM Haha. Nice one Neikos! I would blame it on the humidity, but could just be the sun down there eh?? ;)
Dangerous - Doin just fine. Better now that I've put an Italian in the stable and removed the ol' CBR. :) Though I do miss that Honda reliability.. [bang] Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: Bendy on August 23, 2008, 11:32:11 AM For the miniscule lack of reliability, the Stallion trumps the Honda infinitely. Honda stands for Hallmark Of Non-Descript Automobiles, after all. She was my first bike and she got me to where I am today. And in her first month I at least got to ride her, and not see it at the dealership every weekend since purchase. :( But hey Ducati parts are just money right?! Title: Re: Newbie! Love your tag line under your avatar. Well I certainly will, though I doubt I'll be on the Duc while on that adventure. :( Speaking of tag lines, avatars and such . . . SR1K-femme, I have to be honest and tell you that your username "SR1k_femme" is good and all, but kind of challenging to type and say. [bang] So, I propose, with all due respect, that we provide you with a supplementary handle (sort of a short hand, if you will), to ease all the typing. You can still keep your original username, too. This will actually promote more posts and better communication on the board, I think. [wine] So, here it goes. I think you should go by "La Femme Nikita", or maybe just "Nikita" for short, to continue the Gallic foundation you established with SR1k=Femme. Besides, that was a damn cool ass-kicking movie (the original French one, not the US remake with Bridget Fonda, although that one wasn't too bad). Don't think there's anybody else on the board named Nikita (did a search!). If you like it, great. If not, feel free to tell me to @#$%-off. So, whaddya think, "Nikita"? ;) JohnnyD Title: Re: Newbie! Have to admit some of those 'Handles' you hear from friends in some military circles are quite um, interesting!? [roll] However I must agree with your reasoning. Not only is my handle a bit, well, too much to handle... but you've done some darn good homework. Alas I may not own the sniper rifle, but I do enjoy my Glock. And yes, that was and IS a damn good movie!! Again.. the original, not the latter. :( So without further ado.. I will accept Nikita as my new and 'improved' handle here on the Ducati Monster Forum. :) Danke! Title: Re: Newbie! I kann auch sehr gut auf Deutsch sprechen. Und die Schimpfworten macht vielen spass: Scheisse. Dickkopf. Scheissekopf. Arschloch. Esel. Mutterficker. ;D And, Hogan's Heroes was one of my favorite TV shows (crap - I just gave up my age group there. Reruns! They were reruns when I was watchin'! :-[ ). J Title: Re: Newbie! I grew up on Honda three wheelers at the dunes. It's the only type of Honda I care for--I still have an ATC 250R and heavily prefer three to anything else on the sand. Parts are aplenty and there are few things that can't be fixed! Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: SR1K_Femme on August 24, 2008, 07:17:12 PM Really? Das freud mich sehr. that makes 3. 4, if you count English, I guess. But that one doesn't count. Unless you count it. I dunno. I lose count. ??? Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: SR1K_Femme on August 24, 2008, 08:05:25 PM Losing count can be very frustrating I know.. eh, I figure we're pretty much born into English unless it's our second language, so probably doesn't count. Hmm, now to find out what the last true 'secret' language is.. and so help me if you say 'pig latin'!! Ha hal Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: krolik on August 24, 2008, 09:45:27 PM I know the three phrases every American needs to know in order to survive in Germany:
