Post by: Duc L'Smart on August 24, 2008, 08:38:03 AM
This is from a reliable source on 1 of the 1098 Forums...

There will be a 1198S
There will be a 1198R
and what looks to be a Cust/Factory Race bike 1198RS09

Thank God, more power.  Those embarrasingly slow 1098's couldn't even get out of their own way.

[laugh]  NOT!

Oh well, as soon as I  can get everything out of my 999 (hell, f#$^ng 620 for that matter!), I'll start thinking about a 1098  [bang]   Shoulda started riding when I was twelve I guess...

In the mean time, mo power is always mo betta  [evil]

Only if my race sponsor provides me with one. If anybody knows one please send them my way. Will race for beer.

If the displacement increase is the only major change, then I could care less. If they add traction control to the S I will be displeased.

If the 1098 really displaces 1198 cc's, will the 1198 really displace 1298 cc's?

That would be sweet. We could do a Miller LSD DMF DOC AMS BMF endurance team. AMS could get us free tires and brake pads and leathers and do our bike prep.

I hope to see some trickle down parts from the R bikes.  It'd be trick to get DTC [thumbsup], but I think my wallet would hate me for it.

Scott, when the 1198's come out, I'll take your slow, antiquated, outdated 1098S off your hands.  How about $100 bux?

First Apple with the iPhone, now Ducati with the 1x98.

Maybe it's just about rebranding the 1098R to a 1198(R).

Have you checked ebay lately, I saw a red 1098s in KY for 15K buy it now and another 1098s for like 16k.  I think both had less than 2000 miles.

i'm going to call up dairyland sometime this week and see what insurance for me would be on a 1098s.  i'm sure it's very lol.

though i could really use a second bike as a placeholder for my nice shaded parking spot.
