The Wakan is a Buell / S&S race motor made for their drag bikes.  The fuel is under the seat. That is all air intake on top with down-draft fuil injection.

Hey !  check it out. I actually found a couple of Ducs(in a sea of H-Ds) that don't suck.  The last one is the concept of the new fighter.
I saw one of Confederates bikes, the Wrath with a turbo sell at auction last year for 146k  :o

Maybe some day, someone will make a custom that looks as good as these out of "the other twin" but for now the big red, white & blue machine wins.

Heres a shot of one of a one-offs from TJ & I's best buddy John Coen, threetwochoppers.com ABQ boys building bikes in Dallas.
No worries, red, white & green are comin'

130in. S&S motor  sub 300lbs.  :o  people ask 'how well does it corner?" response "you'll never be there soon enough ta' care"

Lance likes the purple boa, too.

The mug cake would have been better if I'd had cocoa powder.  I tried to sustitute a cube of chocolate bark.  It turned out pretty good though after I threw in some marshmallows and extra chocolate chips.  Needed frosting to top it off.  And ice cream.  And maybe some carmel topping.  Yeah, that would've been pretty good.  Hey, sugar is all this poor pregnant dog has left.   :'(

I had read this before, but came across it again today (old news).  Just two years ago there was absolutely no way this could have happened.  The "Metric mags hated our bikes...HATED .
Sometimes I forget how lucky we are that we can just go hop on the bikes and off into the sunset every chance we are given.  Dusty and I work with programmers on the other side of the world, and more times than not, when they link to our computers & see our wallpaper (road trips) they comment about the bikes and the scenery.   A few of them ride, but only because where they are, the price & ability to maneuver them in crazy traffic are their reasons they ride. Still they love talking about their bikes.  All of them dream of riding bikes like ours, in places like this.   It makes me want to buy them a plane ticket.   I have been lucky enough to have ridden many types of motorcycles for just comin' up on 4 decades.  And of all the bikes I've ridden, I have never been prouder of the ducati's I've owned & the friends I have today (Duc owners or not).

I shot 600+ pics of the trip but haven't found a good way to publish the full size pics. Facebook seems to down- size them to much.

Maybe some additional explanation of the pics is needed.
We arrived in Germany where my family lives and took a train ride to Liege in Belgium
where we met our friends who got married in Rome. We spent 5 days sightseeing and flew back to Belgium.
After a day of rest we embarked on our trip through France ending up in the Alps and flying back
from Geneva to Frankurt, Germany.

Just would like to ask your valued opinion before I place the order for these decals:
The first one would go on the sides of the tank, the second on the rear cowl, the third in the center of the fairing. The background will be matte black.

Zaster I am so happy you got the paint buffed out. Would have been a shame to have a bike that beautiful only, as you said "from 50 yards".  My dad & I use to buy & sell 50's-60's cars, and that was his line also.   Congrats !

Dusty & I went over to Danny Ballys shop today to see Mark Barnetts (Barnett Harley-Davidson) latest creation.  I have been around 2 & 4 wheel racing my whole life, and today we heard a street bike that gave me chills. Sounded like a bored...& heavily, red lining at 18K stroked V8.  Here is his 2007 F4 1000 with the complete Fast By Ferracci / MV race motor.  63K + 30 in extra mods, body work, paint, carbon & brembo motocross bars & lowered controls.  Mark had Leukemia & spent 6 month in a bubble (no shit), where he ended up cured (aint money funny?), but with savere back & joint pain.  Being an ex road racer, he still wanted this style of bike, so Danny re-did the top tripple & rear sets so he wasn't so scrunched up.    Oh, heres the best part.   212 HP at the rear wheel, red line: 18K

And for all the 1098 riders, the body work & tail section come off with  [bow_down]  8 Dzus fasteners
(yes thats how you spell it).

Pics from day 1

This guy was a fair artist, but he took money from a number of folks and then disappeared from the face of the earth.  A few guys on the Ducati.net list were looking to beat his head in for a while.  I particularly liked his exhausts, but I guess we won't have an opportunity to acquire one of those anytime soon.

Wanna go into business building titanium Ducati frames?  I know enough about working with the stuff to be REALLY dangerous.  I've worked for a company that machined and welded titanium in fair volume a few years ago.  On second thought, maybe we should start by building stainless steel custom exhausts.  Any thoughts?  All we'd need is a saw, a welder, a tube bender, and a source for decent stainless tube and sheet metal.

Yeah it's funny how some of these guys act as if he were a saint.
Makes my saying "two sides to every story & a punch line" more rock solid by the day.

As far as building stuff goes, you know I'm down!  The Exhausts are always a good call seeing as that they are not a structural piece. AKA: Less chance of getting your ass sued.

there are several venders that can supply mandrel bends and swaged tapers to a customers specs, from there it's a good tig welder, liquid cooled band saw, fixturing, design, vender to cut flanges and brackets (waterjet, laser), dyno tests to prove they actually work, patent lawyers to keep you out of trouble, market demand analysis, marketing strategy, advertisement, shipping and recieving facilities ,shop space, start up costes, overhead projections, profit margin.......Oh yeah, it does sound fun on weekends in the garage though... [drink] [drink] [laugh]

OK....I also have access to a liquid cooled band saw, a laser, and a water jet (and a high definition plasma), I can design product and fixturing (as I am a mechanical engineer) and I can handle the business stuff (as I also hold an M.B.A.).  Anybody got a TIG (preferably with a liquid cooled torch and high-frequency capability so we can work with aluminum for brackets and such) and access to a dyno?  Oh...wait....we ride Ducatis.....there's no need to prove any performance gain....we just have to prove it looks and sounds good!  Witness these crazy "Boom Tubes" as evidence.

I think we'll also need a set of sheet metal rolls, a sheet brake, and welding lessons.  I can't weld for crap.  I've done some oxy-acetylene welding, but that was 20 years ago.

Any more crazy questions?

JJ could lend a hand when it comes to fluid dynamics to make sure the sound is up to par
as well as the performance enhancement

Just throw'n out some good hearted fun!! I am in the steel fabrication business, and have explored the prospect, it sounds to Me that We have a definite positive pool of resource, and We all like to do this kind of thing... maybe Let's look at it a little more serious...If nothing else We could build some really cool shit for Ourselves and Friends. That's where it begins anyway...If there's a market for a unique product it will surface, if You build it with style and quality craftsmanship, only the economy would be the final hurdle. Something to think about, because it be damn good fun [thumbsup]

Just throw'n out some good hearted fun!!

That's how I took it....I was just pointing out that we already have lots of the resources necessary to make it happen.

As to building for ourselves and friends, that's exactly what I had in mind for now.  Let's design an exhaust for Monsters, comparable to "Boom Tubes", but that actually works and looks cool.

Just a thought.  Anybody got a Monster they'd volunteer for research?

I've got some spare parts.  And so does Scottish, I believe.   ;D  I was just wondering about the research part.  You know the Paladin don't like anyone else's leathers touching his saddle.  We come as a package.  Sounds bad, I know.

research could include, but not limited to:  measuring, photo's, drawings, disassembly, mock-up, cutting, welding, fitting, paint and polish, final assembly, and test ride... not necessarily in that order. Donor bikes will be taken on a first come, first served basis...so act now, time is limited!!        Just think.. You could help create the first....FRANKENDUC..  and if You act now, this valuable reasearch could help thousands of children around the World......OK,I'll stop ;D [beer]

On my trip to the west Texas panhandle I found this monster for sale in Roswell....check it out....it was for sale for  9k!!!???.....someone please tell me why.....the frame looked hand painted and had a rough feel to it....also the brakes were hand painted

So the dealer where that monster has sat for some time now and called me to offer it to me for 6999.
Then he told me about the engine work which sounded good but also in a scattered kind of way so I really couldnt understand
what had been done.....I offered him 3500 and he hung up

Your offer was fair to good.  That bike is pretty aesthetically rough...

Looking over my photos, one of the headers has a dent. The frame and the calipers are painted. It is such a joke.
The salesman was hitting me hard. I think he said it had 11:1 compression but he also said it had new rings
but wasn't oversize and he badmouthed the local dealer.....:(

The new Monster  :)

Well, of course, but what kind of new monster?

I hope it's a revisit of the S4 and is a monster with the 848 engine.  [Dolph]

I'm definitely a fan of the F042 Pierobon platform.  That bike there is definitely an EXTREME version!  The power to weight mixed with the GP spec suspension I'm sure makes that little beast a rocketship that with the right rider, I'd bet even the 1199's couldn't touch on the track.

5 minutes w/JJ or yourself in the saddle and either of you would find the quickest way to drag a knee.  ;D
