Post by: ♣ McKraut ♣ on May 12, 2008, 08:42:55 PM
just to remember those of us that are no longer with us...evidently....

Girlrider - Maria; maybe she has found a "coolkids" MB SUV club?
IZ_keith - Keith...probably wrapped up in four different girlfriends right now....trying to tell them all at the same time how he just has a lot going on in his life right now...
svoloch nevermind, saw him this weekend
greenohawk - Todd (saw him doing his lane-splitting class on 35E southbound a week ago...)
ducatiflyboy - Joseph...  no, joseph, i don't want to buy your bike, please stop PMing me.  and you might want to come down a bit in price from $6500...just a suggestion.

we hardly knew ye....

because, i hate trees, and was hoping you would make copies for no reason.... (and, umm, because how would i have known you actually had it serviced at AMS?  and furthermore, how would i know even with the papers you would provide?  it's not that hard to open up photoshop and forge all of that stuff, after all....)  i guess i'll just have to suffer with my SS instead of your bike...somehow, man, i think i will sleep fine tonight knowing that.

hey but let me know when you start selling off your gear, seriously.  i could use some boots, and a jacket or full suit.  hell i'll take your helmet, too...Shark, right?

No offense taken.  And I hate photoshop, and don't know how to use it...so...there ya go.  Not to mention why would I lie about having it serviced at AMS when all you would have to do if you really didn't believe me is call over there and find out for yourself?  Crap, if I fibbed about that one, I'd run away forever.

Good luck on buying my gear though, it's staying with me.  All of it.  Yes.

if only i could ever believe that...we would be so content.

and yeah, man...i totally know what you mean.  it's a good idea to keep all of your motorcycle gear, yes, all of it, after decided once and for all to be done with the bikes and be responsible.  i mean, it's not like you have a lot of $$ invested in it, that you could recoup most of by selling it to people still riding.

and here i was so worried you wouldn't show up and provide entertainment....yay conflict!

Don't you think that anybody in the market for a bike would have asked for service records.

I sense that you are all in dire need of a threadjack...

Anyone interested in a slightly used, pre-lowsided and pre-highsided SV650s (AFTER it's fixed, of course)?  $3,800?

All my gear is for sale too...  Though the boots are gone.

This is the classifieds, right?

Dammit Andre, I'm tring to shop for a street bike so I can track the 848 and you bring up a great track bike candidate

Yes, I'm now living a pin-free life.  [thumbsup]

pics plz

I'll post some after I fix it.  Right now the new sub-frame and plastics are still in the box, taunting me.  I should start bolting everything up tomorrow.  After that I'll just have to replace a brake fluid reservoir, bleed the brakes, and it should be good to go.  The only thing I'm not going to fix is the dent in the gas tank.  I'll definitely get some clear photos of that.

Just trying to help the cause  ;D  .  Although I'd track the 848 over the SV without even a shadow of a doubt.  The SV is good once you stiffen up the front end (which I did), but I'd expect the 848 to be great!  It would make for a good street bike though...  ;)

I'd much rather track an SV because of the cost of repairs in the event of crash. The is still a bit too new for me to make it a full time track bike

to be honest man i wouldn't want to see it a full-time track bike...it just sounds like i would never get to see it if that was the case, and then we would all be sad.

don't get me wrong but seeing as its pretty new still and I'd like to get some more street use on it i would like to find something a bit more cost effective for the track. I had a blast on it at the track. Its just knowing that it'll probably be tossed down the track at some point makes me a bit ill. A track SV serves as a great starting point

Anyone who knows me knows I have lots of respect for the real deal.
(Of course there is always room for a bit of inter-service smack talking but the respect is there fo sho)
But I detest Frauds.
Unless you want to pretend you were in the Coast Guard... that might be OK.
(just kidding, that actually wouldn't be OK either...  ;D )

Well, then look no furher  [laugh]

That was the good thing about crashing the SV: repairs are inexpensive compared to a Duc.  Plus, having your back break the bike's fall seems to do wonders as well.  [bang]  If I were to keep tracking it, the only thing I would think about adding would be a slipper clutch.  After tracking it on the wet I gained an increased sense of appreciation for smooth downshifting and rolling off the throttle...

I'll start repairing the bike today, and should have it ready in a week or two.  If you're interested you'd be more than welcome to drop by and check it out.
