whne i was over at 2 fools i was talking to the manager and he was wander were we all where! i told him that we were so many of us i didnt think he could cater us.....but he said he could, we called earlier enough and talked to him he would reserve a little area for us wt: so that is a thought.....

I am making a mad dash up to Colorado Springs to see the boys and their families on Sunday, but I have to back in time for my church council meeting on Tuesday night.   I'll try for an appearance if it is over early enough. But we had better plan on a backup-picture-taker, just in case.  Pole practice, elevenish as usual, right, Dusty and DucMouse?   ;D

At 7 I was in Albuquerque...thought I'll drop my mom back in Santa Fe and head back on the Duc...Little did I know the winds around the San Felipe Pueblo would force my bike to go with 30 degree banking on a perfectly straight road at any speed! Then I am off to another lane!!! Scared every inch of my freakin body...Stopped at the Casino had a coffee and headed back with all miseries and curses spit firing!

   Well, as far as I am concerned, all is forgiven, since I didn't make it either.  Council went till 9PM, then I'd talked to Dusty earlier and she said the party was to start at Kelly's and move to indoor karting.  I didn't have a location on that and sans cellphone being my preferred m.o., I was not able to hook up with the gang. 
   Hey, I read your post that you are abandoning the gangsta's of the NMMR.   :'( I will miss that unexpected flash of red on the Crest and on the road to Taos.  I hope you will stay connected with us via the DMF.  It's a small world.  Maybe we will ride together again someday.  Oh yeah, keep smiling, too!   ;D

Why didn't you used your cell phone to call hunky punk?  He didn't hesitate to call me on his about my whereabouts that night.  There was some major ball-dropping going on that night in more ways than one.   I thought that's why all you guys have call phones, so you don't miss any important appointments.   

Glad karting was so much fun.  However, without pictures, it never happened.  You'll have to ask DucMouse about locations where you can go all out and not keep an eye out for Smokey.  I think that's like...everywhere???????  Just get yourself a white jacket and a red wig, and you, too, can fly under the radar or just get warnings.

I brought my own ball but couldnt find the ball washing machine?

The karts max out at about 30 mph, but inside the building that seems pretty fast.  Cost is $25 (I think) per race unless you do the membership thing which I think is the better way to go, especially if you're going to go more than once a year.  It's $30 for the year which includes your first race and then $15 for each race after that. 

Holy Shit!!   :o   I'll save my money for track day instead.  No way am I paying $25 to go roundy-round in a go-kart.  Ain't happening even if I win the lotto.  Like I said, karting just ain't my thang.   I know!!!!!  Let's go to WaterWorld!  $18 and that's for a whole day, not just a race. 

WaterWorld means I have to take my shirt off.  That alone will scare all the women and children.  Plus, I would have to fend off the masses who want to save the great beached whale and roll me back into the surf.  Watch out for my blow hole damn it!!

Well, good point...exactly what I felt when I vacationed on the beaches through new year! However, since then...bought a digital weighing scale....no beef/pork, no chicken...only fish...vegetables, skip a meal...less/no beer...run 3 miles at Chavez with weight training for back and 45-min static cycle...

& wow! I lost 10 kgs (not pounds) in 3 months! Plus, I can move lot faster across the bike on leans and get better top speeds! Ofcourse, Mom's presence here is adding peaks and comments like "Eeeks you should eat more...you will never get married...blah blah...!"

Hee!  Hee!  Hee!  It was Lance that started the conversation at a gas station.  These riders were heading back to El Paso from the weekend in Red River.  Next thing you know, I get offered an escort to Carisoso, lunch on them.  I thought, well, where's the harm, I need to work on my diplomacy skills with those of the underclasses.    [laugh] Suddenly, I am hemmed in, with two big old baggers in front, two in back.  I looked like a duck running for it's life, feathers fluttering and wings beating, trying to get free from these hogs milling all around me.   I decided to just go with it and ride right smack in the middle of them.  Talk about a duck out of water.   I felt it would have been rude to blow around them.  We went 70, the whole way, down 25 from my previous progress.  They asked me if they had gone fast enough for me.  I said, frankly, no.  That opened up quite a few snipes at the Ducati lady the rest of lunch.  We all parted friends.  I got pics to prove it.

Like you always say, "If you don't have pics, it never happened."  Post up when you get back.

Its downhill so I can sit on the bike and coast home on the side walk, running over hop scotch squares and little kids therein, by the school zone across the street as I merrily coast, sans engine to my home a block a way, losing my balance and dropping my bike int he driveway....

I remember promptly lowsiding at the first intersection I came to and showers of sparks, and again two intersections later. All due to me being ham fisted with the throttle, but there was nothing safe about it what so ever. Thats something to forget about! Besides I dont drink ( that much) Had one beer last night at the end of the night. slept good. BTW I ham fisted the throttle out of the parking lot onto central and blew down the road because I needed to safely pass a zillion cages that were talking on cell phones and just plain  cruisin for attention on central!

Fixed it for ya  [thumbsup]  Funny, the number of times I've met pavement since I dried out has not decreased, however, I have racked up five times the number of miles in one year than I had in the whole thirty years of riding before.  So proportionally speaking, my percentage of waddage is down.   ;D  Oh, and only once was alcohol involved and it was in my muddy, rutted driveway.  There were no pics so technically it never happened.  That Suzuki was a pig and I still had it rolling before my boyfriend caught up to me.   :-[

I was going to go up through Wyoming to the Badlands and across.  I have gone that way in my car before and on a train once.  Thought it was time to add a  [moto] or three to that.  May still do it if my ferret sitter can watch Boo for the whole ten days. 

I'm not being mean.  All I'm saying is that bike's not for me.  I helped he pick it out.  It's perfect for her.  She had a bike a long time ago (she's in her 60's) and this is a perfect bike for her to get back into it.  It rides easy, shifts easy and with the power it will be very forgiving.  I suspect that by next year she'll be wanting an upgrade.  When she gets comfortable on the bike, I'll see if she wants to ride with the ganstas.  The bike will cruise at 70.  80 is pushing it, though.   ;D

I went around today looking for rubber.  Couldn't find it.  Come back and ordered it online.  Hopefully it will come in over the weekend and when I come back from Vegas, I'll get it put on.  Did some bike maintenance today.  Finally had the time instead of riding.   [coffee]

They zapped the REDFLAG at Louisiana and I-40.  I don't know who was drving at the time.  It was temporarily stolen, then parked back in my driveway.  That is an ironclad alibi in this town.  
  All I know is that when I opened that envelope, I turned white and almost passed out for the same reason you mentioned.  I run that stretch every day when I get off work and usually alot more over than they got the mystery driver at.  So now I open my mailbox with serious trepidation.  Sunday I rode through that area on the Duc and I was getting passed by RV's, horse trailers, and shuttle crawlers.  I know people must've thought my bike was stuck in second gear, but all I could think of was another $159 ticket and where the hell are the bastards hiding.  Call me Sitting Duc now!  I am in panic mode about everything today, please forgive.  First DucNight being arranged via CELL!!!   My question is whether I am going to pay it or not.  No points go against my license and no notification of your insurance company.  $25 more if you don't pay in 30 days.  What if you never pay?  I am going to investigate that as an option.  Don't want to look out on the driveway and see no Dodge Ducati or find it booted.  A little jail time is no big deal for me anymore.  I thought I was past that stage in my life though.  I can see getting a photo ticket for running the red lights, but for speeding??  C'monnnn!!!  BTW, I never, ever run a red light, even if it isn't a photo intersection.  That's just suicidal.

Listen here, lil' lady, I guess I would be at more of them if people would POST UP the location instead of texting and sending out secret invites via CELL PHONE when it strikes their fancy.  I used to plan my life around Tuesday Night Shennanigans to the extent of cutting trips short and hauling balls back to town risking life, limb, and fortune.  Then it got to be a big debate on where to go because people didn't like the food here or the people there or the  [bacon] at this place or that so it was a big mystery week-to-week where we were going right up to the last second.   IMHO, that is what happened to DucNight.  It got a little complicated and if you didn't know the secret handshake you got left out.   :-\  After a few nights of that, the habit was finally broken.

Go Go Go!  You tell them.  I DO have a cell phone and I never got texted or called as to where Duc night was going to be.  I thought every Tuesday night a Billy's was just fine, IMO.

I work every other Wednesday night so Tuesday's are still best for me.  Council meeting one Tuesday a month, but I am usually out by 9 or 9:30 on those nights. 

About the tippage, +1 on that, DDGM.  Having been a server for more time than I care to admit, I become positively nauseous when they present one check to us and the group starts doing their math.  It's not just our group, it is a damned rule of thumb with a group check,that if the server doesn't get skrewed, someone else in the group is going to.  I tell the server right up front that they'd be 100% better off just to give separate checks if they want a decent tip from those who were planning on it.  Someone is always going to be unhappy about something so the tip gets sucked up by that person' s lack of contribution.  Sorry DDGM if you wanted to consider the subject closed, but it is such a turnoff to me that that is actually another reason why I have started skipping DucNight once in a while.  I'm just not up for paying $10 per cranberry juice either.  Now lets go out there and play nice.     [thumbsup]

I'm all for going back to Billy's.  Central location.  I don't usually start DucNight till 7:30 or 8:00, but that's just me.  You guys usually have a good headstart and the food is already on the table.

Wow!  I've been upgraded from the Hand Sista to a Saint!!!!!!  Yea!  Well, like they say, once a waitress, always a waitress.  I think the problem comes when folks do the math on what they think they owe, but always forget their tax and then their little 15% tip gets knocked down to about 9% after that.  I remember how we servers would groan when certain foks who thought they were fabulous tippers and well loved came in to take up our tables for three hours and then figure a couple bucks would cover the tip.  I see $10 on a free cranberry juice as rent actually.   I will refrain from further comment on the whole topic because it is a sore subject among the tribe.    :D  Wish I could join you all anyway tonight.  Happy Separate Checks!!  Don't ask, Demand!  Tell them they won't regret the extra work.

Geckos on Academy was host to Duc Night yesterday.  Nice place.  Quiet enough to have a conversation.  The food was good and the beer was cheap (Oh no, hear we go again).  HP, the Kawboy, and DDGM were in attendence.  A bigger turnout of those brave enough to karaoke and we would have stayed later.  We left just as the karaoke was about to begin.   [drink] [wine]

Here's some whining for you, how come we never karaoked while I was down there?  I would never have missed a DucNIght if we were somewhere karoake.  I'm a fool for it.  I just got a fix last Saturday night out east at a little honkytonk.  I know it's annoying to some folks, but that's about the only allure a bar has for me anymore.  That and the  [bacon].   ;D

Duc Soup has pulled at least two of my little fuzzies back from the brink of the big Hidey Hole in the sky.  Nothing wrong with that!  That fergoyle was a gift from a dear friend.  Looks like a cross between Lance and a ferret.  Sort of the guardian angel for weasles.  And note that little red dragon on the Duc Soup?  That's for the Dragon and the Paladin.

Mind if I quote you on the SoCo Dog board, Kawboy?  That's exactly why I haven't been showing up for DucNight's up here.  It's always only one person or another suggesting it and they are all partnered up or young enough to be my kid so it feels awkward as ass to respond with the usual gung-ho NMMR enthusiasm.  I wait in the wings to see if anyone else will chime in, but it never happens.  I don't want to put them or me on the spot to show when it's only going to be us chickens as usual.  I did make it to the WSBK get-together a week ago Sunday and tomorrow night is the officer's meeting.  I just know I'm going to get wrangled into being Secretary just when I finally finished the term at my church in the hood.   :o

Nahh,  I sort of disagree with you there, DucMouse.  I mean, the core group does change, but it does so at a glacial pace.  If it was that easy, they'd all be doing it.  Through spirit and consistency, people gradually become part of the core group, but not just by showing up to a few DucNights in a row.  Try some of the long-assed hauls through Utah and Arizona and Colorado, stick it out with the gang for a year or two, stay present on the board, then you might become part of the hard-core CORE GROUP.  We've got some folks that are out of the 505 now and some that don't even ride any more, but they are in the CORE GROUP for life.
