Title: New MKE Area Duc Dealer......
Post by: gregrnel on October 22, 2009, 12:25:48 PM
okay, sorry for the tease, just wanted to get everyone's attention. Please post any rumors, any info at all regarding a new Wisconsin and/or MKE area Duc dealer. Thanks! I'd love a new shop either in Bayview, downtown, or the eastside.

Reina? Never did business with them, they always treated me well at their Festa tent..............Just want some good, proven Desmo techs! It'd be nice to check out Ferraris, Ducs, & Guzzis (in that order) whilst dropping off the Duc.

The are is a little too busy for my taste, But sure would be nice to be able to park the Duc next to a Ferrari and take some pics.

Well, I called Corse to see where I should get my bike serviced this winter, and the guy told me to go to MCC in Chicago or to Indianapolis Ducati, so nothing anytime soon, but he said if it can wait "look for a Milwaukee Ducati dealership in March or April".  I really would love if it was in Bayview, then I could drop my bike off and just walk home.

I would think that they would think long and hard about the location. It has to be easily accessable. Corse was nice, but really in the middle of no-where. Which could have been a good thing. If DNA is going to front the project, then maybe they should just buy the current building. I remember Lake Country, and they where in a pretty poor location. Not bad, but no parking and like a mom and pop shop. The people who worked there were like us riders. A place where you could go and talk bikes. Corse tried the whole Italia think. And even though it was cool, I personally felt out of place. Not that the staff wasn't super nice, but most people in this area work hard for their money. We dont need to be giving it to someone who needs to pay a high mortage. Fact is, that Ducati's will never be as big as the other 4. But that is what makes me want one. I just wish that the economy would support a dedicated dealer. And that the new owners talk to the riders and find out want is important to us.

Have you guys seen Indy Ducati?  I was surprised by it's size, it's about 1/8th the size of corse.  But they treated me like a old friend the first time I stepped into their shop.  That is the way to go!

I've been following this thread http://www.ducatispot.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18001&page=11 (http://www.ducatispot.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18001&page=11) , if this guy is for real, looks like Waukesha.......LAME! Should be in MKE, Bayview, Riverwest, Downtown, the Valley, Walkers Point, anywhere but Waukesha.  Well......at least we're probably getting a dealer. [thumbsup]

Waukesha already had Lake Country and they dropped the Duc line do to lack of sales. The poster from Ducatispot appears to have good cash flow, but so did the boys up at Corse. So, we'll see. Just hope they do it right and have the personality to keep people coming back. I work about 3 miles from the proposed location and its on my way home from work. so for me  [thumbsup]. I still believe that in today's marketplace, dealers have to figure out a way to provide parts as cheap as on-line and they have to have them in stock for us tire kickers, inventory of the such requires big money up front.

I was at the show today and spoke with Kevin and Sam, and they confirmed the reality and location. So it's all true, I cant wait.

So, which dealer in Waukesha?  And when?

They are opening a new dealer, the Bussiness card I have from Kevin says "familiar faces at a new location" 2204 Sivernail road Pewaukee. I believe that it will be in the spot peviously owned by a truck parts store. not sure. Looks like March 5 for opening, I will believe it when I see it. But so far I'm kinda excited.

Swung by the new location of MILWAUKEE DUCATI... the rumors are true.  Its at the location of the old Ultimate Truck on Silvernail.  Spoke with Laura/Laurie??? (forgot the name)  She says they are aiming for a opening date of April 5 and maybe a opening party in June.  They are carrying Ducati and also selling used bikes.  They may have a deal with KTM but nothing is set in stone with them yet.  The old crew from Corse will be at the new location, but sadly the new owner didn't want to bring along Bella(the bulldog).  Pretty excited about this   [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [moto] [beer]

Thats good news - a bit farther for me to drive but the people at Corse were at least in my limited experience a class act.  Good people are a critical element.  I'm looking forward to the opening!

[clap] They're open for service as of today.  I'm snipping this info from a thread on another board about it.  The owner is Joe Meinerz.

Sales will be Sam and Kevin
Parts will be Joe
Service will be Travis

2204 Silvernail Rd
Pewaukee, WI

262.408.5660

The Ultimate Truck sign is still up as of right now. We should have our sign up sometime next week.

Alright, we will start accepting service work tomorrow. However nothing will be done quick as of right now. We still don't have parts, so they will have to be shipped in from another dealer. So any bike in for service before we get our stock will take at least a week, but more than likely 2-3. I will post up when we get in stock parts which will cut down turn around time on service work.

We will only be open 9-4 Friday and closed this Saturday. Next week we will be open Mon-Fri 9-4 and Sat 9-3.

any news of a grand opening date?

I was there last weekend.  There's not much to speak of there yet, I think 5 or 6 bikes on the floor, some A* gear and that's about it, owner said he expects it to be at 90% by the end of the month

The website for the store is http://www.motounion.net/ (http://www.motounion.net/).  They're still working on getting parts and such in but are slowly but surely getting bikes and accessories on the floor.  The crew working there is a great team.  Also - they have changed their hours so check out the website for the latest schedule.  If you haven't been there yet - the website is a work in progress so it changes and has info added frequently.  My bike was dropped off for it's 24k service on Sat. They need to get some belts in (already on order) to be able to complete my service so I'm hoping to be  [moto] in a few weeks.

On another forum they mentioned that they are looking at June 12 for a Grand Opening Party but I don't think it's in pen yet.

I was in Milwaukee this morning for a seminar and stopped in there after.  Nice place, some familiar faces and a friendly attitude.  An ST3 there is causing me some anxiety.

I'll be up there Saturday, Maybe there will be some freebie's either way , I'll be bike less and could use some cheering up. It's up there for service and will mostlikely have to have the case split. Maybe there will be a lapse of time where I can lighten the flywheel and other gears.

Looked like a pretty good crowd there today.  Saw some familiar faces, actually one guy I hadn't seen since college (1985) so it was pretty fun.  I really can't get too wound up about the new Ducs - about the only one I would like to own is a sport classic GT.  Had a beautiful 1978 900 on display there that was very cool.

Went down in the truck this morning and saw a cop with 4 or 5 Ducatis pulled over on Hwy 26 around Waupun.  No one was smiling.

Heading to Road America for the vintage show tomorrow morning.

I was ok with it, I wish it would have been a little more hyped up. But then again this is Milwaukee. Would have been nice if Ducati N.A. would have been giving anything away, hell even stickers would have been cool. Maybe I was there at the wrong time. Also Parts Unlimited should have been selling instead of just taking orders. They had a whole fricken semi. These type of events only breed internet sales and really do nothing for the dealer. With this small market, Joe is going to need all the help he can get.
