I had no idea there were that many bolts on an S4R. Glad I have an oldy carby...much simpler. ;D Title: Re: Torque values Post by: Slide Panda on May 22, 2008, 04:50:58 PM Maybe this should be moved to how to? At least have it be a sticky in Tech.. and then sweep out junk posts like this one ;D
Title: Re: Torque values Post by: mostro on June 20, 2008, 10:54:42 PM hey guys, does anyone have any idea where i can find a gear change pedal? [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Torque values Post by: VeryMetal on June 30, 2008, 10:46:13 AM You can find it just in front of your left foot peg, has a little rubber thing on it, looks a bit like the brake pedal on the right of the bike in the same location. Oh god, I'm so funny. Not. Sorry.
You could try posting a new thread in one of the other topics like 'tech' some of the members here have a pretty comprehensive collection of bits they could sell/ trade you. Or at least someone will be able to tell you where to get one. Have you tried your dealer? They might have one lying around.. Title: Re: Torque values Post by: mostro on July 02, 2008, 12:59:59 AM how terrifically funny!
aite i shall try Tech. my local dealer is well far, so i don't go there often. thanks mate Title: Re: Torque values Post by: Capo on July 30, 2008, 02:33:14 PM Carlos, you deserve recognition for that, well done

Help would be most appreciated as I want to do an oil change ASAP. Title: Re: Torque values Post by: djrashonal on November 15, 2009, 04:16:05 PM Ok, so this is a super noob question, but i've got to ask so I know. With all these torque values, how do you know when you've reached the specific number. Do I just have a shitty torque wrench? It doesnt have anything that tells me i've reached "33nm of torque" Again, sorry for the ignorance, but drop some knowledge
Title: Re: Torque values Post by: ducpainter on November 15, 2009, 05:10:42 PM What kind of torque wrench are you using?
Title: Re: Torque values Post by: djrashonal on November 15, 2009, 07:22:22 PM Just a little mechanic kit i got from home depot. 3/8" ....i was thinking about getting this : http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00944593000P?keyword=craftsman%20torque%20wrench&sid=I0084400010000100383&aff=Y&origin=prod (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00944593000P?keyword=craftsman%20torque%20wrench&sid=I0084400010000100383&aff=Y&origin=prod)
but i still dont know how it tells me how much nm i'm applying Title: Re: Torque values Post by: Ddan on November 16, 2009, 12:33:29 AM The Craftsman is a 'clicker' type: you set the desired torque by twisting the handle and the wrench clicks when you get there. Dunno what to tell you about the Home Depot one.
Title: Re: Torque values Post by: jsanford on November 27, 2010, 04:35:27 PM Well, it took two trips to Sears and creative use of auto jackstands (held the bike up by the frame sliders) but finally the front wheel is back on.
Only an Italian motorcycle would require two torque wrenches to restore the front wheel. At least they were on "Black Friday Weekend" special, and I'll be all set when another 12k miles elapses and I have to replace this tire. [moto] Title: Re: Torque values Post by: Jarvicious on December 18, 2010, 05:50:32 PM ^^^^^ Oh man, I would love to get 12k out of either of my tires!
Thanks for you folks who did the heavy posting. This will probably get printed and left in the shop.
