Title: Rizoma Monster Triple Clamp/Clip Ons
Post by: wrxmy99 on August 13, 2010, 01:20:31 PM
Howdy all

Seems having the Monster sitting idle in the garage for the past 7 weeks (6 weeks to go)  [leo]  [bang] has left nothing to do but look at her and come up with further bling aspirations  [thumbsup]

Anyone know if the Rizoma Triple/Clip On set will fit on my 2001 M900 Sie?

I'm hoping they were just lazy at Rizoma and didn't go back past the 02 M1000 when stating what they would fit on.

Yep they're bloody $$ but 'normal' under the triple clamp clip ons are going to be way too low and wristy for me.

Just a distant idea on the bling to be list at the moment but would be good to know if these things are an option.

Cheers

Andy

I reckon it would... They've listed 01-06 620, surely that'd be the same..

if you consder the price if you bought the triple and clip-ons seperate, its probably not that expensive either..   ;)
nice bit of stuff it is to!

You could ask Bikecraft in VIC
or have a look at PJ's Parts (US) they both do Rizoma gear.

They look great, but a small warning (depending on your preferences)......

These offer no down-angle. Other clip ons often have 5 - 10 degrees of such.
They stick out from the fork sides and leave you with very little room for sweep back. This is also decided by the very limited adjustment range.

This leaves you with a blingy alternative to stock bars, but they are not like clip ons.

Sorry if I spoiled your fun ;)

I guess that's what I'm after to be honest.  Something that is still touring/commute/back & wrist friendly but doesn't look like it came from a dirt bike/BMX!

ie a blingy alternative to the stock bars but not as hard core as normal clip ons.

Matty, any experience with PJs?  I emailed them to see if they knew if they would fit my 9Sie and how ugly shipping would be...

I can't add anything about the Rizoma bling (no siree, no Rizoma on my bike [laugh]). PJ and Paige have always been good to deal with ... fast, honest service and the shipping costs are always managed in the most 'efficient' way.

Think I've found the difference between the 01 and 02 M900 (didn't know there was an 02 900ie until now!)

On my bike the bikini fairing mounting tabs mount onto threaded holes on the "front" of the top triple clamp.

From what I can see on the parts list of the 02 bike the fairing mounts directly onto the "horseshoe" shaped headlight mounting thingy (technical desctiption - NOT)

I'm guessing the Rizoma top triple doesn't have these mounts machine into it hence they say M900 02 on the listing in PJs parts

Guess I just saved $500... :-\

Yep I guess you have.

OR

You've just discovered that there are other ways to spend $500 on your bike.

Maybe you could put the $500 towards a new exhaust  ;D

Or maybe you have found a $500 reason to get rid of the fairing (assuming I have read correctly and that is the only problem).

If your looking for clipons oncycle has cycle cat lipons for $175US. There noted for the multi but they should fit. Stopintime might know. He's the clip on encylopedia. At that price Id get a set and we can split shipping!

I think you will need the older style top triple. It has a different offset for the head tube and forks.
I tried to fit a newer triple on my 2000Sie and found out it didn't fit.
