Vale signed with "Team Rossa" for 2011
(Ducati Press Release)
Ducati and Valentino Rossi have signed a two-year agreement for the nine-time World Champion to race with the “Rossa” of Borgo Panigale in the Ducati Team from 2011.
The arrival of Valentino in Ducati opens a new and exciting chapter in the Italian factory’s sporting history and, indeed, of the whole MotoGP Championship. The opportunity of lining up such an extraordinary rider and character is considered by Ducati to be of huge value to the whole Ducati MotoGP project.
“We are delighted to announce that Valentino Rossi will be with us from 2011,” commented Gabriele Del Torchio, president of Ducati Motor Holding. “He is a paragon of excellence in the world of motorcycling, coherent with our Italian company which is a standard bearer for ‘made in Italy’ excellence. These are key values for success in technology, design and sportsmanship. In addition to the strong and passionate intent of both parties, this agreement has been made possible by the committed support of our shareholder Investindustrial and all the sponsors associated with the Ducati Team, sponsors which have believed in this opportunity and share and support our choices.”
Filippo Preziosi, Ducati Corse General Director, said: “Firstly, Valentino is a great fan of motorcycles and so it has always been a pleasure for me to listen to his opinions. Until the Valencia GP he will remain a competitor, one so great that he has always given a special value to our victories, but as soon as he rides the Ducati for the first time we will work together on every single detail that will develop a bike capable of showing his huge talent. Working with Valentino is one of the most exciting things for every engineer, and it’s good to know we will have this great opportunity next season.”

....yeah Mike!..loosing all sorts of thangs!...While it would be good to have Vale riding at Aussie club days on a second hand 999, some of the locals might have their sense of humour tested! (joke)...Troy is THE MAN anyway as far as I'm concerned, and always will be....actually I had my sense of humour tested on the Recon Run, great roll up, great weather, mad (dirt for some, tar for others) roads...BUT 4000 k after a mint rebuild my stroker chooky BLEW UP AGAIN!!!!...its only a 250, and its great in the "downhill' on Thunderbolts, but it must need a bigger main jet cause i %$#&ed PROPERLY!! ..on the way home, and as usual "it was going really good just before it shat itself"!!!!! Congrats to Ducati and Vale', and also to Casey. Honda will have a dream team next year, and Ducati better get its shit together, coz, if not... "it won't be the rider"! aunty

is JB going with him?  It would be interesting to see if JB can perform his wizardry on the Ducati - that's if the Italians let him!  You know how much Italians like being told something is wrong...... [laugh]

Yes now the question is - Where is JB going? Daryl Beattie threw in the suggestion that he may even end up back at Honda. Interesting.

?Que?

actually in wog it's che ?!

talks about signing the contract with Ducati for 2 years and then we'll see for the years after. Talks about his 7 years at Yamaha and how much fun they were and how they grew and built Yamaha up. Said it was a very difficult decision, but at his age... Says it will be very interesting with Ducati and hopes to build them up like they did at Yamaha. Mentions that he thought Ducati looked the most fun, so that's why he chose to go with them.
He mostly uses 'us or we' when speaking, which makes me wonder if Jeremy and the boys will come along. Jeremy was a bit cagey when interviewed at Brno, but I reckon Vale would want Jeremy and the boys to come along.

more to the point why it is a vid made with what seems to be an iPhone?  surely with $15 million in euros he could afford a decent HD cam!

I wonder what sponsor is going with Rossi?  Isnt he against smoking??

yeah very interesting to see if he has the same success in the first year on the Ducati as he did on the Yamaha - if he does you got to hand it to him to be the greatest motorcycle rider of the our times - even if he doesnt beat Ago's record! Did Ago do it on a number of different bikes?

I'd be thinking that we might see a Fiat-Ducati team in 2011
They wouldn't stay at a team that doesn't have an Italian connection anymore.
It would be a super Italian team and the merch would run out the door!

here's a possible bit of six degrees of seperation
Rossi - Fiat - Ducati - Red - Ferrari - F1

Rossi has sponsorship with Fiat, which has ownership of Ferrari, which after 2 year contract with Ducati and being red - he could go F1! [thumbsup]

or should I open my visor and let the fumes out of my helmet? ;D ;D

it would be interesting to see how well rossi goes without burgess, i'd like to see him support stoner at honda cause with puig and repsol in control he's going to have to plat 2nd fiddle to pedrosa no matter what his contract says.
And yeah rossi is against smoking unless it costs him cash, gauloises are french cancer sticks.
