There have been cases where an after market part caused the failure but I wouldn't expect that to be the case with the K&N, Fram maybe.

is that true? i want to do the oil change myself and bring it to this shop to reset the computer, adjust the chain and the rest .. it cuts the bill in half (doing my own oil change) ??? You must keep records and receipts though.
Title: Re: Warranty question Post by: Slide Panda on April 29, 2012, 11:46:15 AM Yep - in the US it's a lot harder for companies to claim a voided warranty for things like doing your own oil change or other DIY work that can't reasonably tied to warranty claim.
Changing your own oil won't have any bearing on something like, say your fuel pump failing. No way they two are linked and Mgnuson-Moss prevents a company from rejecting your claim in an instance like that. |
