Title: (speedo)wheel spacer Post by: MotoPsycho on April 29, 2012, 12:45:52 AM I searched for it but came up blank :( I have a different type speedometer now and if I remove the speedo cable, I remember reading on TOB that a spacer needs to take place of the old housing. Anybody have FHE with this ? It's a 20mm axle.
Also, Motogadget instruments come with a magnetic pickup and little neodymium magnets you have to glue to the wheel or rotor. Anybody tried magnetic bolts like some of the other aftermarket dashes use? Any machine shop can do it.
I have a SPA tach/speedo and I used Devcon epoxy for the magnet. It's been there for over 10 years. Steel, properly coated & dimensioned.

You're brilliant. I never thought of cannibalizing the stock piece. I'm already this far into it so the stock speedo isn't really much of an option anymore. I'll just use that collar and some A/B epoxy on the magnets.
