I missed it last year because I was nursing a broken ankle back.....I might wear boots for this one just in case but I don't give a shit.

I've done a few of these.  They can be fun, you just want to be sure to wrap your ankles very well.  By the time you finally get to go the track is usually tore up and the mud is very slippery.  That said, I'll pass.

I have a friend who did a Tough Mudder in October.  She said hiking the Grand Canyon was easier.  It should be noted that she hiked to the floor of the canyon then back up to the rim...

In one day.  She is 52.

She trained four days a week at the gym for both events.  She will *never* do another Tough Mudder.

Good luck, man.  Take pictures.  God be with you...

Maybe the TM events are different in Tejas but 'back in Chicago' these events were filled with cycles of rush and wait while people gathered/waited in lines to go through "obstacles".

Lets run a sprint tri. Take your pick and ill do it with you. http://www.trifind.com/tx.html (http://www.trifind.com/tx.html) They are an easy to prepare/train for full body endurance event without gimics like the 'Dong Dangler' or 'Arctic Enema'. Unless thats your thing than more power to ya.  [thumbsup]

Cameras were too expensive to own then, or was it the fact I didn't want to incriminate myself?  8)

Completed the Central Texas Tough Mudder this past weekend.  It was a good challenge and it was tough.  My takeaways are be as light as possible (lose weight if needed), be able to jog several miles, climb and swim with 5 lbs of mud on each shoe, wrap duck tape around your shoe strings so they don't come untied and have a good team that works together to get through some of the obstacles.

Good luck in October.  I might run the Dallas one as well.

Congratulations on knocking that out!
Probably brings back fond memories of boot camp  ;D

Did Muscrat run it with you?
Or was he on another team?

Thanks.  I appreciate the kind words.

He did not.  I think he is training for the one in October.  I might do the one in October but will need to drop 20+ lbs and start running ALOT more.

I'm taking a pass, my ankle Doc said NO until I have the hardware removed and I'm not up for another surgery.
