Hello Everyone!

I have a question regarding boots for those with wide feet. My dad has really WIDE feet and has also had quite a bit of surgery done on his feet. Do any of you know of a resource or a particular brand (or two) of motorcycle boots that work for wide feet? He's been trying for years but just can't seem to get some that fit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

SIDI Vertigo Mega Rain is EE width (whatever that means)

The normal Vertigo is narrow, so maybe an Italian "Mega" isn't enough, but Revzilla do ship for free....

I finally gave in and got a pair of Gasolina boots... custom made and all.  Easy to work with and a reasonable price.

I have wide feet. I use TCX.

And they are over a year old now, worn nearly every weekday for 20+ miles of moto-commute... comfortable to walk in, enough room to fit wool socks in the winter.

I was just wondering how long I've had them and had to go check.

I haven't even shopped for boots since I got them. [thumbsup] They are ready for new soles... but that's longer than any soles have lasted me (on the moto) and the first set of moto boots I've considered re-soleing.

Which ones did you get?

And which soles?

I've gotten excellent service out of my Sidi Air Vertigos, but the soles are about gone, and they're not comfortable to walk or stand in.
And I had to get 'em a half size too small for my narrow feet.

I got the Shortcuts with the lugged "commando" soles.

The lugs are worn off in the center of the ball of my left foot, but there's still "tread" around the outside and some thickness left in the center.

Looking online at these, I can't tell if there is any hard protection built into the boot. You know, like toe box, heel cup, ankle protectors?

No hard protection built in. There is some structure to the toe and heel, and extra leather over the ankle bone on both sides.

It's a risk I accept for commuting, balanced against the other side of utility with comfort and the acceptability for office wear.
