The really sad part is that I was only able to put 300 miles on her.  Sad indeed. :(

Ok, PM's aren't working for me right now for some reason.

DDGM, what size jacket do you wear? I know the XL Icons correspond to a 44-46 chest size... but I'm on the edge of 42 most of the time.  What you think about the fit?

Hey guys,

Sorry, just got settled.  Hunky...vivaleduc wants the bike.  I will keep you posted with any change on that.

Punx...hard to say....it may be a bit big for you.  Given the price, you may just resell it and still make money on it.  Let me know.

Again, my goal is to clear the garage, regardless of price.

I changed my mind, i want the "pod" type filters for my bike... so i have this K&N drop in filter that i dont need anymore. Part # DU-9098. I put roughly 200 miles on it, and have it in the orig box.

for applications, check:
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=DU-9098 (http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=DU-9098)

$60 bucks spent...  $40 and its yours.

ok... $30???

I think at the moment I got you confused with DDGM, who I did buy a jacket from recently (BTW, it's up to 130 + S&H on ebay now  [thumbsup])...

But either way I was only joking... sorry if I hit a nerve  [coffee]

Selling our 2008 695 Dark.  About 4K miles on it, oil changed within last few hundred miles or so.  Completely stock, except for mirrors, with about 10 months left on factory warranty.  Of course, all work done at PJ's.

A few scrapes on it, but otherwise in superb condition.  CRGs can be had as well if you so desire.

KBB lists retail at $7035, we are asking $6,500.

Let me know if you are interested.

I remember this bike.  In fact, I think I sold it to the guy (lol).  The issue with the maintenance key is legit (someone at the store "lost" it).  The gauge was slightly off ( can't recall if it was the tach or the speedo, but I want to say tach), and we told the guy it could be replaced for a minor cost, but he decided against it.  Zoob and the Mullet went through her and it was just a bad gauge, I believe.

Chris Pauls' GT.  One of my bicycle race buddies.  The bike is as if it came off the showroom floor.  He is a high school English teacher that decided to go back to school to get his PHD, so riding the moto's for awhile is out of the question.

Whats up guys! Hows everyone doing?
I got some good news and bad news. Good news is that I got accepted into my number 1 choice MBA program in Paris, France which will start in January 2010. The bad news is that I'll have to move away for probably more than 2 years so I've decided to sell the bike... heres the posting: http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=27907.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=27907.0)

I'll still be around until November and hopefully I can make it to some tuesday or thursday duc nights to make up for my lack of attendance  [bow_down]

If he had a title I'd be scrounging for $2500.  It's pretty!  What's NM's take on pre-VIN vehicles like this?  I know that in Alabama you only have to get a bill of sale and you can register it, but I doubt NM is so loose.  Does anybody know?

A post from today.  I emailed a couple of Q's, here's what he had to say.
(I am thinkin' 2,8-3k would be a good price, but then again I like the way it looks.
The milage isn't anything based on the year & the carb issue is nothin'.

"I am not at home at the moment, but i can email you the actual mileage when i get home. If i remember correctly it has between 21,000 and 23,000 miles. I broke my hand so i haven't been on it other than starting it in about six weeks. I have the orig title, no it is not a salvage. I bought the bike from R&S back when they sold Ducati".

I can't get to ebay whilst at work, but if it's an early GT, as I imagine it is from the title of the link, it should draw between 10k and 15k....probably toward the lower end....if it's in very good condition.

Tom Rolland, who is local, is reputed to be the foremost expert in the country with regard to round case bevel GTs.  He's volunteered to let me ride one of his GTs on several occasions.  He's the guy who makes the silver or brass buckles, too, just for reference.

If any of you wanna meet him and stare at his collection of early Ducatis, let me know and I'll arrange a visit.

Hey everyone.  Been a while.  Hope all is well with you.  Between work and school I don't have much time to play.

Anyhoo.  If any of the SBK riders (KB...HP...I'm looking at you..) are interested in a Sargent seat for their bikes, I am selling mine.  I don't ride much right now, and I would like to see it go to a good home.  It's a great seat and wicked comfy.  It's got maybe 10 hours on it, and that is being generous.

I'm selling in on CL for 275, but I can wiggle.

Let me know through a PM if you want it.  I can deliver it to you, as well.

No offense taken, HP.  I'm not dying for the cash, so I can hold out for a decent offer.  CL can be a real downer in terms of what you get offered, but the last few items I sold I got pretty much what I wanted.  Of course, now all you get are bots from people in Nigeria telling you about a great money making opportunity........

I'm crying a little bit after checking out the ebay ad.  I will miss that bike.   I didn't put many miles on it.  It came with those miles, I believe.  Anson won it in a lottery.  We both had some fun on it, but once we got the Ducati's, it was left by the wayside.  Too sad.  I hope it finds a loving home.    :-[  I never wrecked on that bike.

[laugh] Sounds like it won the lottery too! No I kid, I won it in a raffle from Westside Motorsports. They had a booth at the fair to raise money for... I think it was Sandia raceway? I don't remember, I just bought two tickets cause I liked the cause. Was floored to get a call later that night to come get it. As I recall I told him it'd have to wait till morning with as many margs as I'd had that night. Biggest thing I've ever won... hell I won a motorcycle, how many can say that?  [bacon]

So the bike was loaded up and is now on it's way to a new ho,e. I feel good about the sell. Ron had been looking for a cb for awhile and was really happy with the condition of the bike. He'd already been online looking for correct parts for a couple of things and checking original color codes. He's looking forward to a tear down and complete rebuilt to original stock form. So YAY good new home. When selling something you've enjoyed and had good memories on it's nice to know that it isn't just a POS to the buyer and that they will care for it.  [thumbsup] :)

Frank, my riding companion on our trip through the Confederacy, has a '98 916 he wants to sell. Bike has slightly more than 4000 miles on it. It is located in Ithaca, NY.

It has these extras and mods:
Nichols Flywheel
Marchesini 5-spoke Gold wheels
Regina 520 Gold chain
15-tooth front spocket, 40-tooth rear
FIM programmable chip
Stock exhaust cans have been cored
Carbon Fiber hugger & chain guard
Karabachber seat, white and red seat cowl
Fren-tubo Kevlar brake lines
New aftermarket windscreen (Frank can't recall the make)

Timing belts have been replaced, valve's inspected (not adjusted)

Two questions: Anyone interested? Frank has not put this machine up for sale anywhere else yet. And, what's a fair price? I'm guessing from eBay in the range of $6,000, give or take a few hundred.

PM here is you want to discuss this.

Hate to do it, but my options have gone from zero to something less than that:

For Sale:  2003 Ford E-250 HD cargo van.

By this weekend it will have rolled over 90,000 miles.
2nd owner
Well cared for.
5.4L V8 with automatic overdrive transmission
Heavy-Duty package which includes ALL conceivable coolers for fluids, and 4-wheel disc brakes
Interior has been converted to haul 2 motorcycles with the following:
2 bolt-down aluminum wheel chocks
3 recessed-into-the-floor aircraft grade hook strips
6 hooks for said tracks
8 2" ratcheting straps
4 soft-ties
4 felt protectors for the 2" straps
1 folding motorcycle ramp

Van has cold A/C, and hot heat.  6-disc in dash CD player.  Great tread on the Michelins.  Always starts, always runs, always gets 15-17mpg loaded or empty.  Exterior is a little dodgy, but it keeps prying eyes off your stuff on the inside!

$4,000 obo

A few odds & ends if anyone here is interested:
A front fender, black from a Monster, I believe. It measures as 5 1/4" wide, whatever the metric equivalent of that is.
An LED taillight with clear lens. It includes the actual taillight fixture, the LED board and lens.

Just make me an offer. I ship Priority Mail, so it's not expensive.

There has been a lot of discussion about this "auction" on the Big List, the MH900e boards, and on the DMF General.

First, these are NOT the two lowest mileage MHe Ducatis in the USA.  The zero miles one is undebatable, but the other one has already been undercut by another display queen.

Second, the higher mileage one was purchased off of ebay in September for $15,500.  What idiot would try to sell a bike he bought three months ago for $15,500 at a $484,500 markup?

Third, this person originally said he'd give half of the auction proceeds to charity, but I guess when he got no nibbles he changed that to 90% to charity.  The bad part is the "donor" doesn't get a tax break for "donating" to this asshat, though he does if he actually gives the 90% to a charity (besides his own childrens' college funds).  Even if he just keeps 10%, that's 100k for two bikes worth between 15k and 20k each.....which makes him an even bigger asshat.

The concensus is that this moron is a dirtbag fishing for a sucker.  I hope he doesn't find one, and I'm 99.999% certain that he won't (unless he was trying to stir shite and draw attention to his "business" in NY....which looks like another sucker trap).

What a turd.   [roll]

Steve over at Moto Authority has an '07 S4RT on the floor for $6900 if anyone is interested.  It is similar to the S4RS except it has Showa suspension in lieu of the Ohlins bits and it has a neat titanium paint scheme with its red frame.  6,900 miles on the clocks and a smattering of carbon fiber thrown around for good measure.  The bike comes with a DP tank bag/tank cover combo.

Call Steve at 503-7613 for more details.   [moto]

Hate to do it, but a family medical issue will keep me from riding this summer and Ducs are meant to be ridden. So as much as it pains me to do it I am putting my '08 Monster S4RS Tricolore up for sale. Here is a quick and dirty list of the upgrades. 3k miles on the beast

1. Full Arrow Ti exhaust

2. Zero Gavity smoked windscreen

3. Battery tender lead

4. Bar risers

Will also post pics in the bikes section later.

I haven't seen too many post '98 SSs in town, David, but Airtech makes a one piece that replaces both the mid and lower.

http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/ducati/900SS1999-04.htm (http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/ducati/900SS1999-04.htm)

Sharkskinz makes nice stuff for your bike, too, but you'd have to buy both their upper and lower, I think, since you're missing a mid.  The whole thing is only $600, though.

http://www.sharkskinz.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=71&cat=750SS%2F800%2F900SS%2F1000+%2899%2D08%29 (http://www.sharkskinz.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=71&cat=750SS%2F800%2F900SS%2F1000+%2899%2D08%29)

Final advice would be to look at online classifieds.  Start with ebay and then try the ducati.net classifieds and the ducatitrader classifieds as a start.  You might also try a universal craigslist search engine.  It's more hit-or-miss, but when you find something it's usually priced right!

Good luck, and holler if you need someone to turn a wrench for ya!  (See the Desert Desmo thread)

Well after finally almost giving up I scored a set of 800ss fairings and the price was right Some people out there think that some of this plastic is gold. I was going to hawk mine off on fleabay and get the sharkskinz but I found the 800ss ones. NOw if some one can help me with posting pics on this sight I will throw some out. I have a garage full of nothing running. I am getting my 76 r90/6 cafe up and going first. Then my 82 fxwg and then the 900ss. I have also been working on my 80 flh. It will have a 106" shovelhead with a baker 6 speed. There is so much harley tech and aftermarket it is easy. But trying to find aftermarket for old the old 900ss is not easy. Cloner thanks for the help. I have a lift and am usually home on Sunday and Mondays ad some tools. I live in Peralta and reside in SF.
Thanks for the help guys and when it is time for the valves I will come begging.

I'm close to convincing my friend Frank to ship his 916 from Ithaca to Albuquerque. He'd really like to sell the bike (he has several others). I'm also trying to persuade him to come out himself in April to hang out, play some music & do some riding. IN any event, he emailed me the following:

Quote
Here's some info on the bike (fyi):

The bike is a 1998 Monoposto with ~4,000 miles (from memory).  I bought the bike from a dentist in New Jersey (at ~ 1,200 miles).  He owned both a 916 and 996 that he used for track days (Pocono?).  He stopped riding the 916 when he got the 996.  After a good friend died in a track wreck, the dentist decided to sell the Ducs.  It has an interesting past: it was born as part of an insurance fraud/theft scheme, so it has a strange VIN number issued by Rhode Island (RI 1830).  Though a '98, I preferred the Cagiva graphics so I changed the bodywork accordingly.

Previous owner upgrades (from memory):
Regina gold chain (520)
Quick-change rear sprocket.
Fren-tubo kevlar brake lines
Stock cored exhaust cans

My upgrades (from memory)
FIM chip (UM181?).
Nichols lightweight balanced flywheel (greatly improved handling and reving)
Nichols crankcase breather
I changed the gearing a bit, but I'll need to count the teeth.  Previous owner geared it lower, so maybe I just restored it to stock?
Gold five-spoke Marchesini wheels with 5.5" rear wheel (lighter, and accommodates a 180 rear tire)
Red and white seat cowling with "Campione Del Mondo" graphic
Carbon front fender
Carbon rear hugger
After-market windscreen (can't remember brand, but a nice one)
Karbacher seat

Includes full shop and Haynes manuals and rear stand.  I'll include the front stand if it does not fit my other bikes.

There are other tidbits that I can't recall right now, but these are the significant ones.

The bike was serviced <1,000 miles ago when the chip and Nichols upgrades were installed.  Cam belts were replaced to be safe.  Valves didn't need adjustment.

No photos; hope to get them this week.

I'l post the photos as soon as I get them.

They should fit a /7. The bags do have some small cracks in the top but that never seemed to bother me during any of the traveling I did with them. I know they fit my friends /7. The rack will bolt up to either of our bikes. I could bring them down to Alb next week if you would like to see them or I could take some pics later tonight and e-mail or text them to you.

No need to bring anything down.  I haven't bought the /7 yet, I'm just considering it.  One of the things I had against the bike is it has no storage....but it's cheap!

Pics would be great.
