Title: How did I do?
Post by: rdtompk on July 12, 2017, 08:33:26 AM
Just joined this board AFTER I bought the bike.

Someone tell me I made a mistake!

2006 S2R 1000 with about 8500 miles

Despite the set up there isn't any evidence that it was raced.

Original owner (I bought it from the second owner) spent a ton on it from what I can tell.

Penske triple clicker with remote reservoir

Full termi with spark crossover ( I think that's what it is?)

Aluminum marchesinis (unless these were stock, I don't think they were)

Carbon fiber vomit most places, but not obnoxiously so.

Ducati corse clutch

Pod filters

Speedymoto full triple

kind of ugly rizoma blinkers

tail chop with led lighting (hack job that I had to fix a bit)

cyclecat rearsets

Clutch cover whose name I don't remember.

so the question, how much would you guys have reasonably paid for this bike?

It sounds like a beast and is 5 times faster than I need it to be, but I love it.

Very nice.
Is it tuned for the pods?

Congrats!  Prices vary, question is are you happy.  At least the back wheel is not the stock Marchesini.  If the wheels are forged not cast it is a nice upgrade.

Welcome!

Don't worry about the deal. Ride it and enjoy it! 👍🏻👍🏻

I think it is tuned for the pods.  Didn't mention the Nemisis ECU (which I have heard so-so things about).

Runs great with minor exceptions.  Sounds fantastic, pulls like a freight train.

I'm not sure how to tell if the wheels are forged vs. cast.  Anyone have input?

The wheel sticker says forged, not that that's a definite, but I doubt someone would swap out stickers.

I'd have paid 11ty billion...if that's the bike I wanted. ;D

Like the others have said, if you're happy with the bike, that's all that matters.

It is totally the bike I wanted and I'm very happy with it!   [Dolph]

~~~SNIP~~~
The forged wheels are machined on all surfaces, the cast OEM wheels are only machined on the rim and hub parts.
Those look to be genuine forged bits.
Great looking bike, congratulations!!!
If it were mine I would chop the termi's to match the tail chop, but either way it's looks great.
Thanks!
I'd be scared to do that and F 'em up.
If you are handy and find the right guides it's really not that hard. Measure three times, cut once... oops..   umm Looks like are going shorter! cut again!  Ask me how I know lol.
It has some nice bits on it. Some people would pay a pretty penny just for those rear sets. The wheels are some of my favorites. I am not a big fan of that exhaust but a chop to them would help. Most of all if it is what YOU like then it is the right bike. Everyone has different tastes. I have a lot of things on my bike people don't like but hey it's mine not theirs.
I do like it!
Not in any hurry to make changes except sending off the shock over the winter to get rebuilt and correctly sprung.
That needs to be remedied.  [evil]
That would take quite the convincing argument.  Just won the battle for the bike; I don't know if I'm ready for the war over track days and racing.
Update!
This bike has been awesome.  Put about 2k miles on it over the summer blasting around.  Got the belts changed out (next time I'll get it a whirl myself) and had the TPS reset which solved an idle issue.
Sexy AF.  Sounds wicked.  No Ragerts.
