Title: Battery Terminals Nuts & Screws
Post by: ajw85 on October 14, 2018, 01:32:09 PM
Anyone know off hand the dimensions of the rectangular nuts and screws for the OEM 12B-BS battery?

Mine corroded away and I need to replace them. I don't want this to go off track and become a discussion about battery corrosion.

Thank you!

Every old battery a dealer throws out has a pair. Ask and get it for free?

I just checked mine.  Bolt is M6x10mm.  Seems to have a copper cladding or is a copper alloy of some sort.  Rectangular nut is 15x9mm with the same material characteristics.  Another Ducati battery in my collection has a more conventional grey metal (tin?) for those parts.

If you get stuck grab a short 6mm hex or Allen bolt and grind down the sides of a 6mm nut. Getting a freebie (or handfull) from a battery depot is a great idea.
