Title: Airbox Clip Pin Alternative
Post by: ajw85 on September 24, 2020, 07:39:32 AM
For whatever reason, I have lost my airbox clip pins. I have the clips, just not the pins.

I was wondering if you guys have an off the shelf alternative to replacing these pins before I go digging through Home Depot?

The OEM unit is a roll pin, I think most of the big box hardware stores have them, not sure of metric size availability though...

All it needs to be is round, modestly strong and close enough diameter.
So ~same size and length of tubing, rod, bolt shank, dowel pin, etc.
The brass and aluminum tubes in that size may be a bit weak and even solid steel pins are only a few grams so whatevers easiest.

You can squash down the loop a bit and push the pin in so they'll not fall out.
That inhibits the pivoting function so they're more fiddly to install, but they're that way anyway so just a little more of the same aggro.

… piece of coat hanger cut to the right length should work in a pinch …  ;D (- pleased with hIm-self grin; ...as he pulled out a plumb …)
